Morning all ,
JC - what you're describing happened to me a couple of weeks back when I was put on coedeine. _pale_ Hope you're feeling better today x
Happy birthday VickyA
Good luck for DH's scan tomorrow Nesssie xx
Had some more carp news yesterday. I got home and there was a letter for me saying that my last smear test (sorry if TMI) taken just after I lost the baby has come back with borderline changes. The letter then goes on the say look at the leaflet enclosed, sensitively called "What your ABNORMAL test results mean". It also goes on to say that I have to wait until I've had a normal smear to try and conceive again. They've stated that my next test will be in September  so I'm going to the doctors tomorrow to tell them that this is not ok. Feeling quite bullish about it at the moment, because if I don't I think I will totally fall apart without the option to be put back together this time!
OS wise am cooking a bacon risotto for tea tonight - can't remember whether I've got any mushrooms though so I might have to ring my Mum to check in the fridge for me!
Have a lovely day OS or otherwise, hugs all round xxSometimes that mountain you've been climbing is just a grain of sand,
What you've been out there searching for forever is in your hands0 -
Lowsey I am so sorry to hear that but borderline changes can be due to an infection. I know this because that is what happened to my friend. ((hugs))
Jackieglasgow..:rotfl:Go girl that did make me chuckle about the bone .... I wish people would keep their noses out of other people's buisness
I was in the doctors one day and an oldman asked why I was on sticks and I told him Osteo in both knees he sneered and said well maybe if you lose weight:mad: and I told him It is difficult when you are on bloody steroids all the time and to mind his own buisness with a few expletives:mad:Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

We like leek & bacon risotto - it's very nice!
Also, with ref to your smear, could it just have been a result of everything that went on? Pleased to hear you won't settle for their recommendation, fingers crossed they listen to you & take notice, but they may have a good reason to advise you to wait a little while.0 -
Thursday at last - bring on the weekend!! Good morning to you all, how is everyone today?
Happy birthday to VickyA :bdaycake:
Butterfly Brain can't believe how rude that man was!! Exactly what did it have to do with him anyway?! Damn right he should mind his own! Fingers crossed for the car as well - I hate MOT time!
Lowesy hope you get sorted at the docs hun ((hugs))
JC2703 hope you start to pick up and feel better soon
redruby thanks for the nod on the 20% at B&Q - might drag DH along this weekend :rotfl:
Lots to do today (or should I say this evening, when I get home from work ). Planning on giving the car a clean out in my lunch hour today, then might see if I can persuade OH to give it a wash this weekend. Got the normal load of washing done this morning, which should be finishing about now, and need to make a loaf this evening as well.... Will do the Mr T online shop tonight and meal plan for the next 4 weeks.
Dinner tonight is sausage casserole and mash.
I started a little project last night as well: stripping my hall stairs and landing ready for re-decoration  So last night I tried out some new paint stripper on the bannister - it took 3 layers of paint and a layer of varnish off in just over an hour (yet you were meant to leave it on for at least 6 or overnight!). So now I know I'm going to be left with some lovely stripped bannisters ready to paint or stain as my fancy takes me
Hence my fondness for the 20% off at B&Q!
Hope everybody has a good day

:bdaycake:Happy birthdaty Vickki:bdaycake:
Dull and decidedly cooler here than yesterday, no rain forecast, but there are some threatening clouds up above.
We have to go and get our BP checked this morning, it was a bit high when we went last time. I hope they do not start messing with OH's we have enough trouble with his BP dropping and causing the dizzies without them helping bu putting him om medication!!!
We are going on into Edinburgh to look at stoves for the sitting room, I think we have decided on which one to get but need to explore the options, I also have someone coming out this afternoon to look at it as well.
No gardening today, its very windy, so we are going to have a 'rest day'
Omelette and salad for supper tonight.......might make oranges in jelly for dessert......Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -
Hi everyone,
Lowesy I am sorry that you have had this now. I had the same a few years ago - some of the cells change shape but in a lot of women they change back naturally so they do a check in 6 months, mine had changed back to normal and I have had several normal smears. I would definitiely investigate why they say not to try to get pregnant if I were you, it may be that they just tell women that as a precaution without any real evidence as to why.
I took my dressing off yesterday and I must admit I'm a bit annoyed by the appearance of my scar. It's very lumpy with overlapping skin in a few places (sorry if too much info), I hope it improves. I would have thought that the surgeon might have spent a bit of time lining the flesh up properly!
Has anyone apoken to Twink about Pen Pin - she seems to keep in contact with her regularly? I hope she is ok.
I am going to tidy the study today if I can, I am definitely not going to overdo it!
DH and I had a lovely meal last night, every bite was scrumptious and surprisingly not as expensive as I'd thought because it was an all in cost for 3 courses, canapes and coffee and petit fours (£38) and because we didn't have wine apart from a glass for DH it wasn't too bad. Definitely a special occasion restaurant though.0 -
I must research a recipe, DH had shin beef casserole which had the most amazing flavour which we asked the waiter about. We think it must have come from the red cabbage cooked with five spice powder so I must try that.0

Morning all, hope you are all well
lowesy - hug for you, hope you get on okay at the doctors
schumie - hug for you too
Happy birthday vickyA
Butterflybrain - what a horrible nasty little man. A friend of mine always used to retort "..and you're ugly, but at least I can diet" (a bit more colourfully than I put it!) when people took the rise out of her size.
Meh - I have another day of meetings, which is a pain. Last night conference call went on for just under two hours. They've suggested that it might be an option for me to hire a minion for the summer though, which is fantastic (I'm really really junior here so never thought I'd get given a person help me!). It will take a while though to get the details sorted.
Dinner today will be something with the rest of the chicken I cooked last night - probably pasta for OH and the same minus chicken for me.
I have to collate my papers for my working from home day tomorrow - not like I'm actually going to get anything done at home lol!
have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Hi Snoozer my surgeon tidied up my scar about a year later .I had a large roll under my arm after my mastectomy and it felt like I was carrying a roll of lino. She was brilliant and said it wasn't a problem and I went in and had it done .The roll meant it was difficult to wear a bra, but now thats all sorted. The breast care clinic are brilliant as well and they had a whole load of different bras to help me out with as I have to wear a prosthesis.I eventually got some front fastening ones as they are easier to do up as trying to do up the normal back fastening ones were a real nuisance.I am sure you will be o.k. as long as you look after yourself and make sure you take up any offers of help.I tried to do too much after my op. and only made myself more exhausted and fed up.So I decided that my poor old bod had been through quite a bit so I was going to pamper it a bit and only did what I could.
As I also have osteo-arthritis my joints aren't in the best of conditions so now if its above my head or below my knees the dust can stay there until one of my smashing DDs does it for me .I also had a problem changing duvet covers, but a couple of pegs in each corner soon sorted that problem out You really must not over stretch yourself at all.Give yourself time to heal it will be o.k. in the end, I'm afraid I wasn't a patient patient either I just wanted life to get back on track and you have to say to yourself it will if you give it time .3 years down the line and two into remission I will never pole dance again, but at the wrong side of 65 its probably a good thing:rotfl:I accept there are things I can't do anymore but am pleased with what I can do and enjoy everyday of my revised life to the full.
Anyway what I originally came back online for was the other day I saw a recipe for Mackeral pate and I don't know if it was on here or not I looked through the only magazine in the house and its not in there so I am hoping its one that someone posted
If I can remember rightly it was
2 ozs smoked mackerel
and I think 2 ozs of cream cheese and something else but I can't rremember what it was Anyone have a recipe as I really fancy some smoked mackerel pate on toast.I have some mackerel that I bought whoopsied and its in the freezer at the moment but I thought I'd have a go at making some pate for a change and using my Delia's Kenwood cheat tiny food mixer/chopper gadget that I had as a present at Christmas.I must admilt I wasn't too impressed with the shredded carrot yesterday it seemed very wet and watery.and the cheese went into tiny little clumps I hope I can find a better use for this machine as I know lots of folk rave about it. I daresy it would do breadcrumbs o.k.
Anyone else got any recipes that I can use to make use of this gadget ??0
