Need info on Lateral Thigh Trainer

These are being advertised extensively on Sky at the moment and I am very tempted to purchase. However, at £89.95, they are way too pricey for me. I have searched the internet and can see cheaper models but would like to know:

1. Do they work?
2. Is a cheaper model just the same?
3. Will I look just like the model on TV?!!!!:rotfl:

Thanks

  • Dont waste your money. You cant spot reduce aread of your body all you will do is increase muscle strength in one area of your body and end up walking like a cowboy!! (that maybe your goal!) You will most likely end up using it as a clothes horse in a few weeks time

Plus you won't be able to move for them at car boot sales in a few months time.

Get one for less than a fiver then.

I'm sure your thighs can wait!
    How to find a dentist.
    1. Get recommendations from friends/family/neighbours/etc.
    2. Once you have a short-list, VISIT the practices - dont just phone. Go on the pretext of getting a Practice Leaflet.
    3. Assess the helpfulness of the staff and the level of the facilities.
    4. Only book initial appointment when you find a place you are happy with.

Having googled "reviews lateral thigh trainer" I have now read lots, and mainly positive. However, being a cynic by nature (and therefore very much at home on this site!!) I thought a moneysavers perspective would be very valuable. Pricewise, they can be bought on Ebay for about £30 but the remark about a fiver at a car boot sale is stuck firmly in my mind. Would really appreciate some info from someone who has bought one.

Any exercise is better than no exercise.
There are plenty of exercises that you could do for free or with something as cheap as a skipping rope or simple step block could be as effective. Just getting out and doing some gardening, or walking for 30 minutes 3 times a week would be a start.
By keeping a record of what you have done today, and trying to do a little more tomorrow will gradually enable you to see some progress, if you find that certain activities actually cause pain or make your condition worse then either stop that activity altogether or do it for a shorter time.

But whether it's steppers/sliders/rollers/hoppers there has been a craze for it which lasts a few months, allows enterpreneurs to make a quick buck and move on to the next gimmick to catch the mugs.

My partner was running a secondhand stall today for the WI and amongst the goodies to be sold was a device to enable you to lose weight and tone up with the aid of vibrating pads, that vibrated away the fat while you were watching TV. Remember those.? Well no one wanted it so it ended up at the charity shop. It'll be the same story with these. You need to find an activity which you actually ENJOY doing only these will keep you motivated.
The suggestions here for Mental Health and depression Would be equally appropriate for someone with ME/CFS/FMS particularly things like Yoga, pilates, ti chi etc where you meet other people (helps motivation) and doesn't involve anything too stressful but still requires muscle control.

I must admit I started using my mum's LTT with strings and DVD, but it doesn't come anywhere near at 15 min run!!! And the run doesn't cost anything but time!

I bought one off a company online, it turned up late and rusty the people were quite abusive when I complained, got my money back and old it on :D The one I had marked the carpet very badly, glad I didn't have a wooden floor.
I used it a couple of times made me sweat and felt like it might do some good. Better than nowt :D

my m.e. wont allow me to go out n do things, i cant really leave the house, due to my m.e. and agraphobia, so im gonna give one of these a go, anything is better than nothing, there is no way i could jump for a skipping rope, i wud be so tired and in bed for days...

i worked out that 4 hrs of normal (i.e. steady housework or a trip to the supermarket) is all i can manage and then i need 12 hrs sleep.

will keep ya all informed if i get any benefits. should do rather than laid in bed all day, i can do say 5 mins (i know not much) one week hopefully 10 week after. it means me not doing something else like the washing or hoovering, but hey!!! woteva!
