im looking for recommendations for a good foundation with heavy coverage, or a way to make foundation last longer throughout the day.
i currently use elizabeth arden, and i seems to "wear" off about 2hrs after i have applied it. in the morning it goes on perfect and 2 hours later i look terrible!
i am looking for a good covrerage as my skin is crap, and i like the " made up" look lol!
cheers

I have the same problem because my skin is very oily so foundation just seems to melt off and fade, which is a pity because I prefer a matt finish rather than a shiny one.
One foundation I do like is Kanebo Total Finish but that fades eventually as well although it lasts nice and matt for longer than any other foundation I've ever used and can be retouched without getting all horribly cakey. The tragedy is that it's not distributed in the UK any longer so I buy the compact refills online via a seller on ebay. The other tragedy is that the refills cost £30! But they do last me for about 3 months of daily wear.
If anyone has any recommendations for a cheaper alternative which is just as good I'd be eternally grateful0 -
I have v oily skin and adult acne
Used to use Clinique stay true religiously as the coverage was great and it didn't go 'orangey' which lots of foundations can do on oily skin. When they discontinued it I was gutted, but someone suggested estee lauder double wear (not light- the normal one). It's fab :T
Great coverage and I use much less pressed powder during the day now too. I also use either GOSH light primer or Smashbox light primer under it- couldn't be happier with it (unless my skin suddenly cleared up obviously!!)
Grab a sample from an estee lauder counter- their samples last around 10 days so it will give you an idea if it suits you.Don't suffer alone - if you are experiencing Domestic Abuse contact the National Domestic Abuse Helplines

The body shop do a matte primer that helps makeup stay on. I've mostly been using it on its own though because it makes my skin look smoother

Check around for vouchers & cashback, i think mine came to about £6 in the end.
I'm sure lots of places do primers though. I've tried benefit's dr feelgood in the shop which was nice but expensive by my standards.
I thought i was going mad when i thought my foundation got more orangey after being on a while0 -
If you want a full coverage foundation then try Leichner - it's a bit too makeupy for me but a mate uses it and always looks fab. Its only about £4 too. Ypu can read the reviews here:

Estee Lauder double wear - great coverage and it stays on allday.0

Premium brand - Estee lauder double wear - the original liquid and the powder is excellent, cheaper version Avon Anew, the powder is great for the price, as a primer and to help dry out your skin use a light layer of milk of magnesia as a base, sounds odd but its a make up artists trick and most absorbing primers have this as their main ingredient - hth:) Another thing to consider is applying a lighter foundation in layers, it does work as long as you let the layers dry inbetween and you can tailor your foundation to suit your dodgy bits;)I do this with Maybelline Dream Satin liquid and also the cream one, but I think the liquid has the edge:)Thank you for this site MartinThe time for change has comeGood luck for the future0

Well Mac specialise in stage makeup, they actually started off their trade only being made for the stage so maybe get in touch with the company, see if they do any industrial stuff as I know the sheer look is in for this year, they are unlikley to sell any "heavy" makeup.
Keep your eyes out for words like "matte", "flawless" and look for a good makeup base, the last thing you want is dry skin caused by your skin being scrubbed every day to remove the stuff! Dry skin = dead skin patches (even when exfoliating) = uneven skin tone after applying foundation.0 -
As someone said before Estee Lauder Double Wear, I swear by it. I also use MAC Studio Fix Powder on top of it to set it. A great primer is DR Feelgood by Benefit, really stops my makeup sliding off.0

I use " Revlon ColorStay". It is made for combination/oily skin and is fab. Stays put all day and the colour does not go orangey. I don't use a primer and don't have to powder my shiny bits anymore. lol.:rotfl:0
