payment out should = payment in

    end of....whats distorted about that....

the due date should be the last chance to pay without being charged.
yes i know it's actually not but in my view mr jock et al,
it should be....and the clearing period is not set either,
    it fluctuates....

I can see that people do agree, at least two have.
    Genuine consumers no doubt....

credit card company shills and shareholders need not reply....

Every Saturday should = I win the lottery.

No matter how much I cross my fingers, hop forward two steps on my left leg, turn around three times and hop backward four times on my right leg, it still doesn't make it a reality.

What should be and what actually is are two completely different things.

And while I applaud your one-man campaign to take on the credit card industry, and I wholeheartedly hope that one day payment clearance times will be something we tell our grandchildren about, the fact remains that you didn't understand how the credit card system worked and fell foul of it - you're not the first and you won't be the last.

I'd suggest you take a few deep breaths, shrug your shoulders and accept that you've learned a valuable lesson, then create a more generic account name and come back again and continue the learning process :)

Not sure what you consider a genuine consumer to be, but if it helps - I make over £200 per month clear profit from stoozing on credit cards. You could too - but not without understanding how they work in real life ;)

I was never informed about the choice of due date...will check it out...

See? There you go! Another little gem of information gleaned. They (the credit card company) don't tell you about it - we do on the forum where we try and help people learn how the system works.

    Hmmm.

I thought the OP might be a troll but he/she's just stupid.

Don't worry though everyone not everyone that comes here is a knowall, super-intelligent, keyboard finance expert or an academic. We're all here to learn, help and spread the word about things related to banks and cards.

Some will come here not very well informed and will learn, some will come here and be just as stupid and ignorant as they were when they eventually leave. Especially if we don't rub their belly and say we love them and everything they've said is 100% correct.

Lots of stupid people out there (meet them everyday) and they also tend to blame other people for everything they've ever done wrong. I'm very pleased to see everyone has spelled out the obvious facts with the OP's 'complaint'. I'm sure the OP is a good cook/loves cats and gives to charity etc etc. None of that's relevant though.

Yes, you get opnions here. It's a forum after all.

What strikes me as odd is that you appear to have a rudimentary grasp of the concept of fractional reserve banking as exhibited in post #37 yet the fundamentals of a clearing process seem beyond you.

If you read back you can see I have said all along that I understand
    the clearing system.
Came on here to see if anyone agreed with my point of view,
and it is quite a simple notion to expect electronic payments
    to clear the same day,
and got nothing but a condescending attitude from a bunch of !!!!!!,
who say 'thou shalt accept the system'.
In my view its a rip off.
There is nothing wrong my semantics,
so accusations of stupidity are merely character assassination.
So Jemma, maybe you can tell me what it is that makes you
think you are more intelligent that me, can you qualify that...?

If someone can understand how money is created then
how can that person be stupid....?
The answer is they are obviously not.
Quite basic really Jemma, et al....

So I have finished here now, quite satisfied to have
engaged with cunning linguists and master debaters.
    Good fun..!

    but...

Even if you are a minority of one,
    the truth is the truth.

Did Gandhi have a credit card too? I bet he wasn't stupid enough to understand why he would get charged if he didn't pay it on time!!!
