payment out should = payment in

    end of....whats distorted about that....

Thats called a CHAPS payment ( http://www.chapsco.co.uk/chaps_product/-/page/339/ )and will cost you about £20 a pop. BACS / Faster Payments is free but can take 2-4 days. Your choice.

You did not allow enough time for the payment to clear, if you wanted it to clear quickly then you should of used your online banking to pay it via the faster payments system.

    I tried that it didn't happen....ok

My suggestion is that you go and get yourself an attitude adjustment before you post on a public forum, you are in the wrong no one else, like it or lump it.

had nothing but 'attitude' right from the start of this thread..
just sending it back......that's all....especially to you....

and being corrected as to how things work in reality :)

yes it's the reality, i know that....thanks for saying the obvious.
but I came on here to say it's wrong, there are some who agree.

How am I wrong for saying something is wrong and a rip off,
and I cannot make a payment on the due date.

The 'due date' in reality is not the due date,
it's what then....? 3 or 4 days before.

    that's really plain and simple....(sarcasm)

by the way nothing wrong with my spelling....
it's my typing that's the problem.

It's not a rip off. It's your misunderstanding of payment dates. User error.

The "DUE DATE" is the date payment is due. You have to allow time for it to CLEAR. It's not a "send payment" date. This is clearly marked on the statements, so the issue is you not seeing this, not them trying to rip you off.

    Hi there, can I check something please? Is your gripe;

    a) They're charging you, or
    b) The payment doesn't go through quickly enough?

The reason I'm asking is now you seem to be more annoyed that the payment never went through quickly enough for you. Unless this was your first every payment to this card, I'm assuming you've previously paid in plenty of time (possibly to make sure it gets there or to ensure you don't spend the money) so why change this time? Also, why not set up a DD for minimum payment and ensure it's paid?

The whole time-delay in getting the money from one account to another is as old as banking itself, no-one on here is suggesting it's fair or right, just that it happens to be the way.

Now if you're arguing about the charges, and you wade in with the same low level argument you are suggesting on here, they wouldn't really feel the need to refund you would they?

So, is it the charges or the slow payment?

PS - This is not some front for credit companies, just a forum where most people try and tell the truth no matter how unwilling people are to here it.

PPS - It's not a typing issue unless you've remapped your keyboard to put the A next to the O

Because I sometimes don't have the cash 3 days before the due date.

Just like fractional reserve lending-also making money from thin air

No matter what I say, CAp 1 refuse to budge...

A bit stupid really, if you don't have the cash until 3 days before why not just change the statement date / due date to a date which is more convenient to your pay day.

You got it wrong you got charged, if you had gone directly to the web site of CAPITAL ONE - (NOTE SPELLING) you could pay by debit card for IMMEDIATE payment.

Your fault, you should know that payments don't clear immediately a bit of forward thinking and we wouldn't be wasting time on this thread.

Move your date, set up a direct debit and then shut up.

Its always someone elses fault isnt it?
The OP clearly wont take responsibility for his own lack of organisation. I for one though would like to extend my thanks to people like this though who through their ineptitude fund Capital One to pay 1% cashback and £10 annual bonus.

Capital One are a great credit card company

    in your opinion only.....
  • What strikes me as odd is that you appear to have a rudimentary grasp of the concept of fractional reserve banking as exhibited in post #37 yet the fundamentals of a clearing process seem beyond you.
