Payday loans?
The OP has a faint whiff of troll in my opinion."A nation of plenty so concerned with gain" - Isley Brothers - Harvest for the World0 -
Why not just set up a DD for the minimum then you wouldn't have missed.
Yes it would be good if same day payments went through, however it CLEARLY states on the statement how long you should allow and you didn't do it.
You came on hear to rant and think everyone's against you when actually your lack of being able to read the statement is the cause of your problem.
If you are struggling to pay then Capital One would have been able to help, did you put anything in writing?
For 5 years will you be saying thanks to Barclaycard when you cannot get any more credit?!!!!!0 -

You must struggle with spelling too.
Don't blame other people for you breaking your contract and leaving small providers like Capital One in a bad way.
You've been living the high life on cash that didn't belong to you and yes people are now struggling since they've gotten a reality check.
Tough. Live with it and get a debit card, Cheaper for everyone.0 -
I've had credit cards with capital one and currently have one with Barclaycard. Both make it perfectly clear that you should allow 3-5 days for payments to clear.
It's up to the customer to make sure their payment reaches the account on time to avoid incurring fees. If the payment was late which incurred a charge that then sent you over your limit you shouldn't be so close to your limit, sorry if that sounds harsh but it's true.
It's up to customers to manage their accounts properly and creditors can't be blamed if they haven't. The only thing you can do is write a complaint letter and they may refund the charges as a gesture of goodwill.
If you're having financial/debt problems then you should go and seek advice from one of the advice charities, and look at any possible benefits you may be eligible for and not claiming, to maximise your income.Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

I don't agree with the OP because yes, everyone knows it says on the statement how many days clearence takes but what i do find odd is why everything else electronic is almost instant yet bill payments have to "clear"...maybe someone in the banking sector can explain why there is a delay with payments to and from accounts?
The whole system seems to be biased toward the finacial sector.0 -

one of you admits used to do that....
I came on here to get views from consumers with similar experiences, not from
from a bunch of dodgy shills that say CAP 1 is a decent company.
I go elsewhere now for my credit advances,
and not been turned down either...!
At least they can spell CapitAl One...
However I seriously doubt any of them work for C1, you're just throwing your toys out of the pram after getting things utterly wrong and being corrected as to how things work in reality0 -
Always a shame to lose a valuable poster who throws their toys out the pram when others don't share their somewhat distorted point of view. If only they'd stuck around, they're have learned valuable terms like "payment clearance times".
payment out should = payment in
end of....whats distorted about that....
the due date should be the last chance to pay without being charged.
yes i know it's actually not but in my view mr jock et al,
it should be....and the clearing period is not set either,
it fluctuates....
I can see that people do agree, at least two have.
Genuine consumers no doubt....
credit card company shills and shareholders need not reply....0 -

CAPITOL 1.....that's how i chose to spell it....also CAP1
so what....!
anyway it wasnt me that started with the sarcasm and the popping...
just better at than most when provoked, so watch out Jemma-T,
ok yar....! havnt been living the high life at all.....assumption...
this board is definitely not for consumers......it's infiltrated.0 -
get over your self for god's sake.
You did not allow enough time for the payment to clear, if you wanted it to clear quickly then you should of used your online banking to pay it via the faster payments system.
Just because you are not hearing the answers you wanted to hear does not mean we all work for the credit card companies, or we are shareholders... get real.
My suggestion is that you go and get yourself an attitude adjustment before you post on a public forum, you are in the wrong no one else, like it or lump it.:j:beer: :j0
