I'm tempted by the Sky HD+ offer, but many questions, from a Sky Virgin...

Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker I've been Money Tipped!
Could the £28 a month include the £150 cashback from Topcashback?
Admittedly, if it does the email isn't very clear, but there is an asterisk on
Sky+ HD iPod Touch deal* .

The confusion over installation costs might be to do with
"New customer set-up: Non-standard set-up may cost extra. Standard set-up of Sky+HD box with the HD Pack is free when you join Sky TV online (normally £30). Standard set-up for a Sky+HD box without HD pack subscription is £30."

I read this as: take out sky online and get free installation; phone them up (like the deal says) and it costs you £30. (insert shrug smiley here) Bit sneaky if it is though.

    It's only a game

  • I've signed up with Sky today - paying £19pm, for the knowledge and kids pack.
Free SKy+HD box, free install, free iPod Touch 8GB, free M&S voucher worth £25, they are coming in on next thursday to install.
I did not contact sky direct, was trying to sign up online in their website through the link I got from moneysaving newsletter, but since I live in a block of flats with more than 10 flats, the website said someone will contact me over the phone instead, so left it there.
Got a call from a company (AV???? something) and did the deal over the phone.
Hope all goes through fine and I'm not left 'dealing' with broken promises at a later date to claim the freebies

I tried signing up online (now seem to be able to get the Sky+ HD box for free and just pay the £30 install if I don't take the £10/month HD subscription). However I'm in a block of more than 10 flats so couldnt complete the transaction online and was told to call DAS. They are saying that they can't yet do the ipod deal as they're waiting on the codes from Sky but should be able to later today. Has anyone else managed to get the deal via the companies that deal with installations into blocks of flats?

    Thanks

As eggy-hawkeye you will not be getting Sky Sports HD or Movies HD included in the £28 per month.

Whilst all the blurb about SkyHD says it includes Sports and Movies - to get them in HD you also have to subscribe to them as well (they're about £16pm each on top of the existing SkyHD subscription)

    Hence my confusion.

This is what it says on the MSE page:

    With HD channels: £28/month

Opt for Sky's HD pack and you get all of the above plus up to 37 high definition channels, which you'll obviously need an HD telly to make the most of. The HD pack costs a fairly steep £10/month, though Sky does have more HD channels than its competitors.
    • Sky+ HD box (generally top-rated, records upto 80hrs)
    • Variety pack (over 200 digital TV channels, see list)
    • HD Pack (up to 37 HD channels, see list)
    • £25 M&S Voucher
    • An 8GB Apple iPod Touch
It doesn't say anything about needing to have any other package to get the Sports channels.

And I thought I read it pretty carefully, yesterday, which is why I had concluded that now might be the time for me to go this route!

acoording to the sky site you get the entertainment pack and then if you take the hd pack at £10 extra (making monthly payment of £28) you get access to a further 37 channels which are hd, including sports movies, etc which is
    sky sports hd 1,2,3
    discovery hd
    sky 1 hd
    sky arts hd 1,2
    bio hd
    sky movies priemere
sky movies 1,2, drama comedy family indie action modern and sci fi
    disney hd
    mgm hd
    box office 1,2
    sky real lives hd
    history hd
    ci hd
    sci fi hd
    nat geo hd
    nat geo wild hd
    euro sport hd
    espn hd
    rush hd
    e4hd
and mtvnhd! so for a £10 amonth seems pretty good deal! plus the bbc and channel 4 one.
or have i read that wrong??

scrap that wow its very confusing, because its sold looking like its a package, like all the other packs, eg buy movies and you get all the listed, but the hd pack is only whats included in YOUR pack, so if your not subscribed to movies or sport you dont get them anyway or how in hd.
unless you taking all channels and hd pack youll then get the full 37 channels! blimey thats naughty, it should be clearer.
