there are copy chargers aor about 7-10 quid but was hoping to get the original one... as i paid for it as a tz7... obviously wont happen now.. have complained to ebay about him suggesting i return to usa address and have asked them to chase my refund :P but we will see lol. i got enough of a discount to offset the inconvenience i guess.

On amazon the TZ7 were 240 quid.. after discount got it for 170 so i guess i deserve to be shortchanged on charger etc

OP I think there might be a bit missing from you box - do the pins on the charger fold upwards? I brought an HP Photoprinter in Hong Kong 5 years ago, it had a plug with pins similar to yours, it also had a clip on adaptor that changed the plug to a UK one. If that is the case you may be able to get on of these devices.

yea they are flold up ones... two little pins./... that look like plug direct into wall. Its a USA socket type :

And yea i could get an adaptor to convert it to english but then when i want to use it in a foreign country it will have two of these adaptors on it... which as another has pointed out would fall off wall.

you can use a multi-one like this one

    http://www.7dayshop.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=777_3&products_id=106062

But you will stil need sellotape with the two-pin Spanish socket.

  • neas, I have a tz4 with the same charger as your pic, (2 pins), also bought from Ebay. Mine was supplied with a UK attachment, so yes, as someone said before I think you have this part missing from your box. I have taken mine abroad and charged successfully with an adaptor, it didn't fall off the wall. I would suggest asking for the UK attachment again as you feel it is missing, Good luck

In my experience, proper UK retailers selling import cameras usually provide a UK power adapter to fit our 3-pin sockets (for free).

If it helps the OP, I'd recommending keeping the camera. I've got a Canon and Sony camera (from Japan same as Panasonic) which uses the exact same style 2-pin fold out charger. At home (UK), I just plug it into my shaver plug socket and it charges fine. In Europe, you can get the UK to Europe adapters - the ones with various cuts, so accepts 2 or 3 pins, whether round or flat, so you should only need one plug wherever you are.

I actually prefer this style of charger (fold out pins) instead of the ones with a separate lead/plug (like an older UK model of a Canon camera I had). It's less to carry when you're travelling and one less wire to get tangled up in!

I will in the end keep the camera.. this thread has now migrated into a

Why should you buy an item in UK but then be expected to send it back registered delivery at £15 to USA or any foreign country when you originally got it shipped from a UK address

Heres ebay response to that question:
    Hello Sean,

Thank you for contacting Ebay Customer Support. I understand this is
regarding the camera (380209687605) from seller "digigood " is as not as
    described on the listing.

I understand that we asked you to send the item back to the seller and
you don't want to send the item back due to the seller's return address
which is from the United States. It's your option not to send back the
item however we also can't assure you that a refund will be issued to
you. Because what can Ebay assure you once you send the item back with
signiture and once we confirmed the delivery of the item, if the seller
fails to give you the refund, Ebay will issue you the refund which is
item price and the postage that you paid for the original transaction.
And that refund will be issue within 3 days on your Paypal account once
the confirmation of the delivery of the item. If you're unhappy with
this resolution, you can contact your seller and try to communicate if
there would be other resolution that you can agree with.

In the meantime, if we can be of any other help please give us a call on
0800 358 6551 to speak to a member of our specialised team.

I trust this is helpful and wish you all the best on eBay in the future.

    Kind regards,

I really wonder what muppets ebay employes.... she clearly is missing the point.

I bought the item in UK... but now if i want to return it I have to pay double->triple the price of a UK return..... because the seller has his return address set as USA but his sell address set as UK. Its a con.

When in Europe why dont you just use a US/Euro Adapter instead of US/UK Then UK/Euro. Pointless using 2 adapters when you only need 1.
