No I didn't have to pay for them, that is my point.
I wanted the a specific model phone, 50 x-net minutes, 500 same network minutes, 500 texts and "unlimited" internet & push email on 18 month contract.
The cheapest tariff that gave me what I wanted was a special offer bundle which came with 200 x-net minutes, so the extra 150 mins are effectively free to me as I didn't ask for them or even want them but got them anyway.0 -
localphone.com
Does anybody use this service
Do they SPAM TEXT you with promotions and services?
I tried to find a contact email on the site to ask but they clicking any contact us links just send you round in circles.
they say half pence per min to AUS0 -
You could use any Betamax VoIP brand such as Voipdiscount for these calls in both directions. Some have better rates for reaching UK mobiles, which you can compare at http://backsla.sh/betamax
You would also be able to use Localphone for both the directions you want to do, as it also has access number arrangements in plenty of countries.
I really don't understand your obsession with asking over and over again about spam texts. You aren't going to get an answer to that effect if nobody has any experience of such a problem with these services0 -

hi thanks for the info
I don't really have an obsession with SPAM texts. Its just, in my experience, companies don't really respect my right to not receive SPAM texts. Its a really good feeling that when my phone blips its a member of my friends or family, or if i am asleep (i work at night) its an emergency.
its not really a grey area for me
1 SPAM TEXT = too many = one sleep lost if I am disturbed.
it puts me off just trying the services out on my mobile
because i don't want to invite SPAM:spam:.0
