    its not a duplicate thread

    its a totally different question

I assume from websites that calling
    MOBILE UK to AUS landline

    is different to

    AUS landline to mobile UK

A lot of companies quote one or the other of these types

    they are 2 different questions

    ----
my answer about skype and spam texts is the same though

i always give a pay as you go number to companies to stop spam texts

I recently bough some glasses from TESCO, they spam me regularly about glasses. like how many pairs of glasses do i need. :):)

but i thought for these services i could use some Mobile free minutes (I get 750mins )

my answer about skype and spam texts----

I've kind of disregarded skype, because
    its the most expensive voip
I'm nervous about putting software on my PC from companies I'm not sure if i 100% trust.
also i like to move around on the phone, not sit at my pc.

i just want to use my normal MB phone
    I don't have a landline

but i don't want to get sales texts after i use the service
    that would be really annoying

I don't really want to try lots of companies, because it increases the chance of getting SPAM texts all the while

I work at night and sleep in the day some weeks so i leave my phone on for emergencies not adverts :)

I'm calling from a mobile to a aus landline

I know, and my comment still stands.. I call from my mobile to all of europe/america/australia, etc, for free.. Voipdiscount will give you an access number to access your voip line, so assume you have free uk landline minutes on your mobile you will be able to call for free. :)

vodafone do a sim that allows you to call australia cheaply, not sure on the details but google vodafone international but then it means having to buy a cheap phone on voda payg unless you get an old 1 ulocked
  • :oDo you know why inclusive minutes are not called 'free minutes'? The concept of inclusive minutes is the biggest con going. I am paying 6p on Orange for my inclusive minutes. If a company like Rebtel or any of the other 'iclusive' offerings of cheap call providers state that the cost of a call is only 1p plus inclusive minutes. I would be paying 7p in total per minute.

I have come across the new company Kangatel, which charges actually per second and does not charge connection fees, like so many other services. It is always worth while to read the small print. I should know as I am a 'foreigner' of 7 years living in London.

Even if your inclusive minutes only cost you 2.45p or sth ridiculous, when you add that figure to the advertised price you would still be paying 3.45p. Checke the fine print, always.

Not for everyone, my contract gives me loads more minutes than I use per month.

For me, using the 18185.co.uk "020" access number is cheaper for than Kangatel as I am using inclusive minutes that would otherwise go to waste.

But you had to pay for those inclusive minutes in the first place.

Eg. £20 line rental 1000 inclusive minutes. Minutes cost 2p each whether you use them or not. Plus http://www.18185.co.uk/mobilerates.php at 2p a min To OZ would be 4p a minute plus 4p connection.

Using localphone would possibly be cheaper.

Turning to Kangotel its short code only works with T-Mobile and 3-Mobile (contract and PaynGo) and with Orange PaynGo and the chances are localphone would be cheaper.

    right I'm officially confused

    Question 1

I am trying to do 2 things
---Call TO Aus landline FROM UK mobile
    and
Someone is trying to call me
---FROM AUS landline TO my UK Mobile

Would i use the same service for both
When i access any website it only explains the service from the point of view of calling FROM UK. I assume the website knows that i am logging in from the UK OR it only offers the service from the UK.

so would i use the same service if i started my call in AUS or UK

    Question 2

    Is voip discount free?
it say free if you top up?
Do i have to install any software?

    Question 3:

Does one receive SPAM TEXTS if you ever use any of these services, any one with any experiences of this

    Question 4

anyone use rebtel? it is recommended by Martin Lewis :money:

    cheers
