*shrugs* might be worth calling up and getting a new card then seeing as it's lower APR than my egg card too..
Oh no, hope they are not doing this for us all (bet they are) as 2% at supermarket is a good deal and I hate to lose mine!Best Regards,

It looks like they are getting rid of our Platinum cards - I just got a letter telling me how lucky I was to be going onto Barclaycard Freedom.
Problem is I was getting 2% on my supermarket purchases, so this great deal, is actually really bad.
I guess I'll have to start looking at a new cashback card.0 -
Just received my new Barclaycard Platinum freedom card in the post.
Jolly nice of them to raise the interest rate from 9.90% to 15.90%.
Phoned them up and was advised everyone with this card has had their rate increased.
Shame really, was a good card to have prior to the interest raise.0 -
I called their customer services last week & they advised me that i will still get the 2% for supermarket & fuel sales & 0.5% for everything else.
I'm not so sure though as my online account is saying i'm registered for the freedom programme.
If thats the case it'll be rubbish compared to what i'm on now.0 -
The question still has not been answered - will we still get actual cashback as well as Freedom Reward Money?
The letter I got from them today states "We'd like to let you know about some features we've added to your current Barclaycard cashback card. We've made your cashback card a part of Barcaycard Freedom..." I can't find any mention in the attached Terms and Conditions of the existing actual cashback arrangements and am thinking they have been ditched.
Is anyone able to give a definitive answer, please?0 -

I'm with you itsj2 the important question hasnt been answered - I too had a letter saying they had added the freedom features to my existing cashback card. The terms only seem to realte to the freedom features themselves so I have no idea if they will stop paying the cashback that i was getting. Ive checked their site and the answer isnt on there either. Am disgusted at this and if they expect me to spend money on calling their customer services line because of their inadequate customer information they can expect me to cancel the card shortly.:silenced:0 -
I have a Barclays Cahback card. In today's post a letter telling me that my card is now a Freedom card but that I could opt out. I spoke to Barclay card using the free phone number 0800 9177277, not the costly 0844 xxxxx (thank you "say no to 0870" !). They confirmed that you get Freedom money only on items bought from firms who have signed up. You get nada from others; no Freedom money , no cashback credit to your credit card account. You can spend the Freedom money only at signed up firms. Choice is either Freedom or Cashback. Natch I opted out & am sticking to good old cash back, which I get once a year.0
