Ooooh I take back my previous post it looks like there are around 86 retailers in and around my home city that are taking part.
Most of them are independent but some are chains also, maybe half a dozen of which I use occasionally.
Given how new the scheme is, 86 retailers have already joined here, should start making me a bit of actual money as time goes by!
AwesomeCashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

This new scheme from Barclaycard is simply rubbish. I don't use any of the participating retailers so I won't get anything from it. It was far better when Barclaycard was part of the Nectar scheme I earned loads of points then as I got my petrol from Sainsbury.
My verdict. Forget it Barclays.Kevan - a disabled old so and so who, despite being in pain 24/7 still manages to smile as much as possible0 -
I have a Barclaycard that I haven't used for quite some time - I stopped using them once they came out of the Nectar scheme. Instead I use my Amex or my M&S card to earn cashback. I get my petrol from Shell as it is my nearest, so was tempted by the promotional bonus points, but when looking at it it barely seems worth switching from using my Amex! However, I am keeping open minded about the scheme as it is early days, and will be using my Barclaycard for the 3 required transactions at least! . As I pay off my balance in full on all my cards each month I will take which ever cashback/reward/points scheme gives me the best return at the time! I hope there will be more offers like Amex does with certain retailers, such as 20% off at Gap - that will be when the reward would be worth it.0

For me this barclaycard freedom is useless I live in a small town that has only 1 of the partners in this scheme and that is pizza express and apart from that there is no one else in town that is included in this freedom thing.
We have only just had our 2nd coffee house open and that was just a month ago!
So you can see why it's no good for me.
Not every one lives in a big city and I think it's about time this is taken in to account.Don't forget you can donate 24 Felix tokens to help feed a cats protection cat/kitten that's in care
their are loads of cats/kittens awaiting there forever home
don't forget the the oldies who are just as much fun
Dropping a brand going greatthanks Martin and team

The problem is the retailers have to use Barclaycard Business as their aquirer and pay a further fee on top when they accept a qualifying Barclaycard. I have heard of about 2% being added.
So the scheme is quite restrictive. And complicated for cardholders as you can redeem at some places but not others, some are earn only. An absolute load of rubbish. These are my thoughts and no one else's, so like any public forum advice - check it out before entering into contracts or spending your hard earned cash!
I don't know everything, however I do try to point people in the right direction but at the end of the day you can only ever help yourself!0 -
Cashback at only certain retailers? Retailers have to pay more to join up (so will put prices up?) This is waaaaay too complicated for me. I'll stick to my 1% Egg Money cashback on everything thanks...0

Barclaycard sent me a contactless card nearly a year ago, and I found it fun to use when buying some small groceries in town (Manchester) and for at the coffee shop at lunch.
But now it's going to be going backwards and having to stick my card back into the chip/pin machine.
I wish they'd make their minds up!!0 -
I had a wonderful Barclaycard Platinum which was paying 0.5% cashback on all spend and an extra 1.5% on fuel and supermarket spend. It has been switched to "freedom" and hence is no longer worth using so I'll cancel and switch spend to my capital one 1% cashback and £10 bonus, I have had this card for 2 years and have been told that I will not be charged the annual fee, do you think they will in the future be able to start charging me the annual fee?0

Didn't they say that the Freedom cashback wouldn't affect existing cashback cards? Pretty sure I've read that somewhere."A child of five could understand this. Fetch me a child of five." - Groucho Marx0 -
I've just have a letter from barclaycard saying mine's changing to a freedom card....
*shrugs* might be worth calling up and getting a new card then seeing as it's lower APR than my egg card too..Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043
