Most retailers will be happy to give you their boxes as they have to pay to have them uplifted (well we do in Edinburgh).

Oh and if you have a Spud-U-Like near you, their boxes are really strong and ideal for books, dvd's etc. I moved 2 years ago and still have some of their boxes with stuff stored in them.

I know it is not free but if you are desperate - use staples.co.uk - they do all sizes and shapes I believe!

Texaco garage or probably any other petrol station that has a shop. My mother used to have to break up hundreds in a week(THEY DO NOT RECYCLE!), you can get strong ones that the bottles of water or oil bottles come in.

The jolly good chaps on the market will give you the shallow fruit and veg ones.

I used to work for Shoefayre and we had loads of empty cardboard boxes and couldnt fit them all in the skip every week. I imagine a lot of shoe shops will be the same.

If you know an Avon Rep, our boxes are quite strong with lids.

try mcdonalds, i used to work there and thats what we always used and we gave loads away to customers. The fry boxes are the best, they are not to big, strong and will stack.

i wouldt take fry boxes, as theyre often moved into teh kitchen near teh fry racker so smell of frying, and dont have ones from sauces etc. as they often leak ask for boxes from the ambient store, ones that have held happy meal toys etc. as these will be clean. otherwise, have you checked aldi or netto? they have loads of fruit boxes by teh door usually, theyre great for lugging heavy stuff about.
