I often pick them up from the local Co-op or Spar - if they don't have any at that moment in time, they're more likely to save them for you to pick up at a later time than the bigger supermarkets. Also, go in at quieter times in the evening or during the middle of the day when people are at work. This is usually when the grocery store staff are stocking shelves and hence emptying boxes!0

Where r u from. Just moved house and I've got a load from the removals firm I am just going to take to the re-cycling centre. I'm in Glos just off M5 if any body wants them.0

Have you tried local wine shop/off licence they have loads which they have to pay to have collected. I used these when I moved house.0

try mcdonalds, i used to work there and thats what we always used and we gave loads away to customers. The fry boxes are the best, they are not to big, strong and will stack.

Try your local dump/tip. Most of them have a cardboard only section, most of the boxes may have been flattened down, but this can be easily fixed with some cheap packing tape from a pound shop.
Failing that have a look behind parades of shops / retail parks etc. Most district councils now like retail outlets to flatten their cardboard boxes and keep in a seperate pile. Again, these can be taped back into the box shape. If you're after decent sized boxes target some of the larger appliance stores at a sizeable outlet (i.e. out of town retail parks). You may even catch some that haven't been flattened yet if you ask in store.0 -
Have you tried any distribution companies (if you have any your way), my husband works for Macmillan and he tells me that they bin any that are damaged, by damaged i mean bent on the corners (same as with their books) shame - such a waste0

Try asking on your local freecycle (https://www.freecycle.org). My friend managed to get loads when she moved.0
