Red how can you go and have a cream tea when I am still at work and then have 2nd job and won't be home until 8.00ish - then should do a pile of ironing but this site is so addictive. OH might be out again!!:j

Got any cornflour Buns? If not take a couple of spoons of the liquid out and mix with some normal flour in a saucepan until it thickens up then add back in to the SC

Bunny - how about cornflour, but obviously not too much! Or add a curry paste.

    Gonzo...

Having come from a situation where I play the role of your wife-may I make a suggestion? First of all, do you talk about money together, you and your wife? Are you quite sure you know EXACTLY how much she owes? I ended up in £52k worth of debt because my husband and I couldnt/wouldnt/didnt talk about money...

    1. clearly explain your money situation to wife-SOA for you both, the WHOLE picture-she NEEDS to know how much you pay out and for what...

    2. Show her what interest is-I know that sounds stupid but I can say hand on heart, I really did not understand WHY or HOW I got into so much debt-basically I did not understand the basic principle of interest. If she can see EXACTLY how much money she is paying each month to have a balance on her card, she will be less likely to want to keep paying it!

    3. How much does she get a month between benefits/CHB and maintenance?
You need to know this and this money if it is not budgeted for shoulf be paying off her debt.

    4. DO NOT PAY IT OFF FOR HER AGAIN!

*this sounds harsh but my DH did it for me 3 times-clearly I did not learn the lesson the EASY way and now my DMP is mine alone and I am paying off all the £52k MYSELF*

You need to be working together with this, and open. I know from my own experience and I would hate for her to end up like I did in a right bloody pickle!
