There are a few HTC phones running Android that are worth a punt at the moment. Functionality wise HTC is right up there with Apple plus you are less likely to get stuck into a large 24 month contract and poor tarrif if you go for an HTC. Only downside is that the iPhone has a certain aesthetic beauty to it (in many peoples eyes anyway) which many other phones can't match.0

I have a really old Andriod phone (HTC G1) the software is brilliant (its running the old 1.6 software) and i get on with it really well - recommend it to everyone and more then happy to stay with Andriod based phones.
Just a shame that my phone is built like a porta-loo0 -
I see a lot of positive comments about the Nokia XpressMusic 5800, but this seems a pretty good deal:

Hi all, my contract with orange is ending soon, I am currently on the canary( i think) lol
unlimited texts and about 600 mins for 40 ish quid a month,
I'm in limbo as to what to do.. I am following another thread here "frugal living challenge 2010 and really want to budget as much as possible, I have a half decent handset that i won on the Nokia comp Nokia 5800 express music which I am happy with, I must admit, budgeting is so hard when your a money tart like me, I am so torn between getting an iphone(swear word and I must not do it!!), getting a payg sim and sticking with my phone or looking for a lower tariff.
I have been beating myself up over what to do any suggestions or great deals would be greatly accepted!!Thriftkitten
