Best Phone (Beside iPhone)??

As some already know on here, i'm trying to haggle my way a better deal with T-Mobile. Although I can get an iPhone with them, they won't offer me a cheap (Around £20 downward) contract.:(
So, what phone is the best other than the iPhone? This will help me to gain a cheap contract on a good phone (hopefully!):j

iphone is the best really, but the Samsung galaxy is good and htc magic!..few newer ones due out..plus iphone 4g

If it's the best touch screen you're looking for, the HTC Desire looks like it could wipe the floor with the current iPhone when it comes out in the next month.

However, you're likely to need to pay for the phone at the £20/month price point.

well yeah I'm trying to haggle my way for a better phone at a cheaper contract,if I don't get an iPhone deal, i'm looking for, I will try another handset and then wait until the new iPhone comes out and get it 4 my bday.
Well, I do like how the iPhone has so many apps and I'm into downloading games, apps etc Maybe looking into a Blackberry but there are so many models I don't know which is the best!
Also, how easy is it to cancel a contract that is about 4 months in? Just a bit worried they may not let me cancel a contract with T mobile for me to go with someone else for the iPhone 4G? :huh:

Firstly, it's really difficult to get any kind of deal on an iPhone because the mobile operators have no leeway as Apple are setting the prices.

Next, it won't be easy to get out of a contract just because a better phone comes along. You'll end up paying for the unused part of the contract. If you're going to wait for the next generation of iPhone, you're better off sticking with your current handset on a 30 day SIM only contract.

Lastly, it's not just iPhones that have loads of apps. There are thousands of apps, most of which are free, for Android phones for instance. There are some very good Android based phones out at the moment, and some due out in the next couple of weeks.

So you think I wont be able to haggle a new phone out of T mobile if I were to get an iPhone in August sometime?:( Might be better off just haggling a new phone with a cheaper contract? Whats the requirements are such to if you get a freebie with the phone too?;)

you definitely will not be able to haggle your way out of a contract simply to get an Iphone, it' s a100% certainty

The trouble is that the cost of the handset (and any free gift), is built into the cost of the contract. If they 'give' you a phone on a 24 month contract costing £30, they'll expect you to honour that contract fully. If they let you change phone halfway through, then they've effectively lost the money on one handset. The free gifts are also part of that deal. They won't ask for the used handset / free gifts, they'll expect you to cough up for them by paying what's left of your contract as a lump sum.
