No, the £5 is relating to the free online trial. So long as you cancel it within the 30 days you're £5 up. Granted it's not the stat one but way I see it is it's better to make a fiver for exactly the same thing than pay £2
Total 'Failed Business' Debt £29,043

Good news. These companies should be non-profit making organisations IMO and not just another company looking to slip a few notes out of your wallet when you aint looking.Credit card and overdraft at 18. 2 loans and 3 storecards at 20. University education flushed down the toilet through debt at 22. Car finance at 23. Car repossessed at 24. Rock bottom at 25. Learnt my lesson 26-33. Now 34 with a mortgage on an affordable house, a car paid for with cash and a bank account in credit. I learnt the hard way.0

I just checked my report and found i have CCJ's at a previous address i moved from 2 years ago, i have absolutly no recallection of getting these as the dates dont ring any bells or the ammounts the most recent was in 07 for over £5000 which i think i would recall owing.
can anyone advise me on what i should be doing about this.0 -
I already ordered my online statutory report from Equifax a few months ago and it is about time Experian and Callcredit do the same.
As doelani has already said, it stays there for 30 days.0 -
Daddy-Spendless, the statutory credit report normally includes contact details for those on the report. If you're sure that the debts aren't yours then you can use those details to find out. The dates might not match because it's possible that debt collection agencies are involved and using dates and amounts that are different from the amounts you might remember. Someone can seek a CCJ for up to six years after the debt was incurred.
If the debts are from after you left then it could be identity theft by those who moved in after you.0 -

thanks for the reply, i was definitly at the address at the time the credit report says the CCJ's were issued the most recent was 01-07 i moved out in 08. i had lived at that address for 8 years since 2000 Ive definitly never had any summons to court or debt collectors knocking on my door for any of the ammounts the CCJ's say i owe.0 -
But what about other amounts? There may be interest or service charges added on.Daddy-Spendless wrote: »Ive definitly never had any summons to court or debt collectors knocking on my door for any of the ammounts the CCJ's say i owe.Are you for real? - Glass Half Empty??

Going back to the article, I note that it says :
"Access will be free for ID fraud victims and those receiving debt advice".
How would Equifax know whether or not I am receiving debt advice?
(Would it have to be via some official body, or could it include forums like the MSE ones?)0
