awww, that picture looks just like hagen did when we gave him a bath.
He doesn't clean himself often and when you comb him there will be dirt coming off of him and when it got to the point that his paws were black we gave him a bath.
Think he's just slow at learning to clean himself since nobody ever taught him but he is getting there slowly but surely

No wonder all your moggies are traumatised if you're sticking them in the bath and using showers! :rotfl:

By far the easiest method is in the kitchen sink. But first of all, get changed into old clothes as you will inevitably get drenched in the process!! ;)
    1. Fill a large jug with warm water and place on the draining board.
    2. Place a large towel on kitchen worktop next to the sink.
    3. Fill sink to about 2"-3" deep then gently lower puss's rear end into water whilst holding her neck & shoulders firmly to your body to reassure her.
    4. With spare hand scoop water over shoulders to wet body (whilst still holding her close to you, so this is where you get drenched too!) and shampoo entire body, avoiding head & face.
    5. Drain soapy water from sink and rinse kitty with clean water in the jug.
    6. Wrap wet kitty in large towel and dry off.

    Simples.

I used this method on my kitties occasionally up to 2 years old. They used to get into scrapes and messes sometimes. Hairdryer was a nono though. Agree with whoever said it was it's a 2 person job and that makes it quicker. One at the head holding puss still and consoling, one at the other end getting the job done.

still have Newton at 14 but not bathed him in 12 years :) He doesn't smell bad so looks like he'd rather wash than be washed. :rotfl:

I wouldn't spray, wipe or powder mine, don't like the idea of ingestion.

Likely top kitty will clean themself eventually but I'd probably enlist a friend and follow above details. As long as warm room is available and a good drying off has taken place. I use kitchen towels in a stroking motion when cats are drenched from rain, they don't mind this. In fact they really appreciate it. However you will be providing the rain this time so be prepared for sulks.

I have in the past found it useful to provide a favourite meal about half an hour after the trauma. They still sulk but it did make me feel better :rotfl:

    Best of luck

You DO have control over how you react :)

I suggested to Yogi that I gave him a bath. He shuddered, headed for the garden and had a lovely roll and wriggle in a freshly dug bit of earth.

After he shook himself off he looked at me as if to say "There I'm all nice and clean now"

From past experience I think that is the nearest I'm going to get him to a bath.
    Bless him :smileyhea
My first reply was witty and intellectual but I lost it so you got this one instead :D

    Update:

Havn't yet had a chance to bathe Dave (this is what stupidly long days at work and high pressure from study causes) but the urine smell is starting to subside and he is smelling a bit more "catty"

Lools like he might have avoided it......
