I've got a Miele in my (rented) flat - the receipt is in with all the flat documents and it was bought in 1999!

Zanussi. I've had 2, the first one lasted for 13-14 years and the second one I've had for 6-7 years.

I have a 30 yr old Hoover Electron Washing Machine, it is still going strong and just recently had new motor bearings and washes much better than other machines, however uses more water which means good rinse results!

The washing machine was given to me by a friend and replaced my previous 6 yr old hoover washing machine which was poor by all standards on wash quality etc.

My first Indesit lasted 15 years, the last two with a pot washer in the drum to stop the leak. Worked like clockwork, actually it was clockwork, no nasty memory chips going 'Computer says no'
.................:)....I'm smiling because I have no idea what's going on ...:)

Got a Hoover Softwave 1300 in Sept 1996.....washing for 2 people.

Kept it in the lean-to at the back of the house.

Finally had it replaced last spring - still working - but needed a new door seall.

As part of kitchen re-design, washer is now in-doors. Got a silver AEG to match other appliances.

My Indesit is getting on for 15 years old and I've never had a problem with it, but I'm not a heavy user of it.
I think if washing machines kept dying on me after 2 years I'd be inclined to just buy the most basic, cheap model and just resign myself to buying cheap ones regularly!

    Tenth Anniversary
Ariston. Lasted 20 yrs. No repairs. Last year developed minor fault so decided to change as it owed me nothing. Ariston not what they were and wouldn't recommend one now. Replaced with Miele. 10 yr mfrs warranty and expecting at least 15 yrs from it. If it goes kaput after 10 yrs it works out at £75.00 p.a. All Miele supposed to be good. Choose the model that has the features you need.
Mine is a miele and I wouldn't change for the world. It's my second miele. The first lasted 11 years and 2 babies with no problems.
It's not the most basic, but not the fanciest and came witha free 5 year warranty :):)
