The point is that for a long time now the free withdrawal of money abroad has been their main selling point to lure customers in so why should anyone be surprised or complain that we joined just for this benefit? It certainly wasn't for the interest rates on their savings accounts!! I don't think anyone cares about loyalty to their bank nowadays - we all just have to get the best deal we can for ourselves.
I think this is another step towards the end of the facility for full account holders. The rot started when they started to charge for out of Europe withdrawals. It is hard on people like my student daughter who has a part time job but not sufficient income to pass the credit check and relies on using this card when travelling. I do hope Nationwide think again as it seems incredibly mean to do this. Also how do you know if you suddenly lose this facility halfway through your holiday. It is kind of them to time this for June to Sept, the main holiday period!!
Not sure if I would have agreed with them at the time(21st of March).0 -
Sorry to drag this up again but this morning my wife got a letter and leaflet from Nationwide notifiying of changes to her account. It states that from November she will be charged for overseas withdrawels, does this mean they've decided to allow overseas withdrawels on the Cash Card Plus but like other Flex Account cards, at a cost? We're confused, first we are told that on the new card you will not be able to use ATMs abroad, now it's suggested that you will.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

Two different cards. One the Cash Card, the other Visa Debit.0
