Good evening chaps and chappesses, hope you are all well. Have just finished the third of three days very intensive work, now off for rest of week. We got our IVA review results the other day - monthly payment going up by £39 but permitted earnings amount gone up by a fair bit more than that to allow for increased bills, so once I do a bit of number crunching it should be manageable. Gadget arrived in post to fix car window motor - £55 as opposed to over £200 quoted. Just have to get my nice little man at the garage to fit it for me now, then I can have fresh air in my car for the summer. Lots of sloggus domesticus and food supply shopping to catch up on, as well as financial jiggery pokery - it's a wonder I find time to work for a living as well.
Tixy - hope doggie better soon. Nic - can I have your autograph? Numpty - got your school uniform ready yet?
One life - your life - live it!

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

Welcome to the debt free wannabe board. A great place for seeking advice and inspiration and support on getting out of debt. Please read the above in case you come across one of the very few trolls or more frequent spammers that come our way.

Good evening all, handyman here. Well today has been a better one at Hooray Hall. I must have got my point across, because Lady Hooray couldnt have been nicer if she tried.

Tixy, sorry to hear about your dog. Its funny I was talking about Badgers with Niddy and Numpty just last night.

We Have so many around us I worry about my youngest terrier getting hurt (or worse).

I have a few things to do now before I settle for the night, But I will be back later to catch up on whats been happening.

Best wishes to you all, handyman123.

That's great news nicca - I was reading a thread on here the other day about DIY SOS - Lisawaters I think - is it the same one?

The very same Borassic :D. Been following from the beginning and feel I know "Lisawaters" and Southernbelle*, so don't want to pass up the opportunity to say hello and see what's happening. The logistics of Glasgow to Littlehampton are somewhat more difficult to work out, what with volcanic ash, ridiculous train fairs, horrific rather than mega busses! I may just drive and pick up any waifs and strays en route.

Well that is a result at least - one good day can't be bad

I was thinking just that about the badgers - spooky isn't it that they had just crept into the conversations last night - though it must be a dream having 3 sets near you it is also a worry as they are vicious animals with a hellish bite

I have been listening to some of you discussing avatars, now I don’t have much experience of forums or emails and the like. Most of my IT experience is from 20+ years ago. I started to lose it when windows 3.3 came in.

But I like the idea of having an avatar, something that graphically describes my personality.

After a quick Google I found a site that will take an actual photograph of yourself and digitally turn it into a much better looking and interesting version of yourself.

Then I thought of something that happened recently and decided that perhaps I should stay as I am.
Recently Mrs Handyman and myself went to a funeral, we don’t get out much.

My stepson Trap Fly was also there, He is called trap fly after trapeze flyer. A few years ago he ran away to join the circus, much to the delight of Mrs Handy and myself, it was a shame he waited until he was 35 before he did it.

Now when I go out I like to smarten myself up, normally I look like a Wurzel that’s just emerged from a Mangle cave. So for the wake I was wearing my black pinstripe suit and waistcoat, I had my black Crombie and a Trilby hat.

One of the girls that was talking to Mrs Handy said who is that, Mrs H replied that that was her OH. Oh said the girl he looks like Laurence Llewelyn Bowen, then she thought about what she had said for a moment and said, but not quite so tall, or as slim or as Butch. By this time Mrs H was LOL so she might have misheard.:rotfl:

Now I know that I am vertically challenged, I also know that my 6 pack was replaced long ago by a 12 pack.
But to say L L Bowen is more Butch than myself, I think I must be in real trouble.:o
So No Avatar for Handyman, I wouldn’t want people to get the wrong Idea. With my luck I could come out looking like Julian Clarie.

Best wishes all, handyman123. (said in a deep butch voice).
