Hi box of kittens,
If you or OH owe money to where you currently bank (or their associated companies) then you will need new basic accounts with people you don't owe any money to. Some do allow a full debit card. Have a look at this list (page 5) and it will show you what each offers -
Thanks Tixy, we both have overdrafts (neither of which are being chased for repayment at the moment) - we'd still need new accounts then? Thanks so much re: debit cards. I guess ringing my bank is the best way to find out but it all still feels a bit intimidating.0 -
Just had a call, my dog is on the way to the vet.

Your overdrafts will be included in the DMP so they are likely to take your next lot of wages/income to repay the overdrafts. So you will both need new accounts.
Co-op cashminder has a visa debit card and is quite popular on this forum (providing you don't owe anything to them already).A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

yes you need accounts that are not finicially linked to any of your creditors:(

I'm pretty sure the CO-OP isn't linked to anyone, and if you have a co-op food shop near you
