Thanks for mentioning that I thought it was just mine! And I can't go complaining to our IT engineers as they'd have asked which sites I was having problems with (and of course I'm not on here!)
I had the same problem this morning, Tixy:D:D
I had a marmalade yoghurt yesterday, paddington would approve!
Sounds interesting - shop bought or home-made?

Hello, I'm a new DMP-er, about to sign up with CCCS. I just have a couple of questions and wondered if anyone could help.

The bit about Barclays and Connect cards - my partner has a Barclays account, does this mean he can only have an electron card once we sign up? (we are doing a joint DMP) It's not a deal breaker but just wondering how things will work if neither of us are allowed a debit card (I am with First Direct but have no income to speak of so can't imagine I'd need to change bank account?) Just things like ordering food shopping online / hiring cars - can't seem to do them without debit or credit cards I think?!

I'm sure I'll have more questions as the process goes on but that's my opening gambit!

Hello to all the fellow DFWs by the way!

    Hi box of kittens,

If you or OH owe money to where you currently bank (or their associated companies) then you will need new basic accounts with people you don't owe any money to. Some do allow a full debit card. Have a look at this list (page 5) and it will show you what each offers - http://www.moneymadeclear.org.uk/pdfs/bank_accounts.pdf

Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.

What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.

If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.

what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?

firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.

The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!

It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis

Hello and welcome to all with good intentions. Trolls and spammers are not welcome on DFW. To any newcomers, please have a quick read of the message above. Please do not be put off by the trolls, if you need help there are plenty of people who will offer advice and support.

And if you are bored, feel welcome to BUMP this thread back to the top. :)
