What is a Troll? A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made.
If you should get a comment made on any thread you post asking for help and advice please realise this comment is not directed at you personally.
We really are all a lovely bunch here (oops, modest, sorry) so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal.
what should i do if i get a comment made on my thread?
firstly do not respond to the comment as this invariably is what the person wants. At the bottom of the post, on the left hand side is a red "warning" triangle. Click this and then "send" the message that comes up. This will report the message to abuse who will review it's content and delete it.
The person we had this morning was particularly vile and nasty and please believe me is an extreme rarity here.
Above all PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE BOARDS. THIS SITE IS AN ASSET TO SO MANY, ESPECIALLY WHEN IT FEELS THE WORLD IS FALLING IN ON YOU. THERE IS SUCH A WEALTH OF ADVICE HERE TO BE HAD THAT THE COMMENTS OF ONE MUST NOT DETER YOU FROM AVAILING YOURSELF OF THE KNOWLEDGE HERE!!!!
It is testament to the work that martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time knowledge and experience freely to others, without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of debt crisis
Welcome to the debt free wannabe board. A great place for seeking advice and inspiration and support on getting out of debt. Please read the above in case you come across one the very few trolls or more frequent spammers that come our way.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Hi Tixy, Sorry I got called away earlier. Yes I am in London I can see the Houses of Parliament and the London Eye from where I live but from what I've been reading on here you all live out in the countryside, I'd swap places anyday! Hope you've all caught up on some sleep. Check-in again later, have got my grand-daughter staying 2nite.I must stop procrastinating, I must stop procrastinating! promise I'll stop tomorrow OK:D

Borassic, I'm in Glasgow so not quite countryside... but then I can get to Loch Lomand in less than an hour, so I can't complain.
Eeek, I decided to try the new look forum. It's quite cool but currently feels a bit weird.

You are an imp niddy, imps can't be PM, but monkey's can (Prime Monkey;)).
Paddington only wants to be a little boss.
I am stuffed full of too much macaroni cheese. So might not be able to move all evening. Hoping not to nap this evening, don't want to miss ashes to ashes. If David Dimbleby can stay awake so long, I think I should be able to.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -
Good evening everyone, now time for a party political broadcast on behalf of the Trollzappers party.
Party leader Mr Monkey has been away from his ministerial abode for the past few days. He was last seen somewhere in the south of the country chatting up builders and rolling on the floor with numerous small furry animals. This is precisely what this country needs, a leader who is not afraid to interact with the ordinary voter.
Chanceller Mr N I Doubt, known as Niddy to his friends and El Nid to those who fear him, continues in his crusade to bring the banking sector to heel. At this rate he will soon have them rolling over to have their tummies tickled.
Foreign Secretary Tixy remains firmly entrenched in the middle of the country where she can keep an eye on all areas.
Other party members were busy today as usual, getting on with the business of running this thread - good preparation for when we are in power running the country.
Nargleblast sends apologies for not being able to attend the midnight watch and supply the promised coffee and bacon sandwiches. Unfortunately her other life took over last night and left little time for MSE work. One life - your life - live it!0
