Just go for it , I have 2 purple ones and 2 white ones , the more they get cut back the better the blooms seem to be. 6" off the ground on both seems to be about right for mine. Just done em. Anything grows where you dont want it just take it off. Enjoy the butterflies when the arrive later in the year.0

I've pruned both mine today.......well i should say hacked because if any one hands me a pair of secuteurs (sp) i go mad and chop everything right back. my motto is 'if it grows again....fine, if not i get to buy a new plant' LOL.
I might try and grow some from the prunings, coz dh dug up the 1 from the front garden last year by mistake.0
