    Hello all

Back after a lovely week away with sister and our families.. back to the real world but not a bad MSE start..

    Today I:

    • made bread in the breadmaker (did half chapatti flour/half strong bread flour though (running out of regular stuff) and it went a strange shape..:rotfl:yummy though!)
    • washing at 30 degrees
    • stashed a £2 coin from the bus driver..I love those chunky 'chocolate' coins
    • checked online bank
    • me and OH did our ISAs - we got a good rate from Santander thanks for lovely MSErs advice
    • booked hotel to go to friends wedding on Quidco so 5% saving - every little helps
    • AND...a NSD..yippee..these are rare in my house..:j
Have a good evening all. See you tomorrow

  • Hello everyone :)

Had a very good MSE weekend. Instead of paying for car to be valeted - seriously disgustingly dirty - I set aside a couple hours on Fri and cleaned it myself inside and out, and also did OH's car on outside. So saved myself £25 in valeting fees plus found 20p! Cleaned out handbag and found 30p. Every bit helps.

Also bought M&S Mother's Day Meal Deal x 2, 2 half legs of lamb, 2 veg dishes, 2 puddings, 2 wines + 3 wines for £10 and 1 extra to make up to 6 bottles to get 10% off. So full bill would have been £72.64 but with discounts I paid £47.47 - :T. Very pleased. So have frozen one meal deal and cooked delicious roast lamb for my lovely Mum yesterday with rest of family and had lovely day.

Used Boots No7 £5 voucher for £7 eyeshadow so only paid £2 for it. Looked v. nice on too.

Benefitted from Waterstones 3 for 2 on books: 1 for Mum, 1 for OH birthday in June and freebie was an Orchard Toy's puzzle/game for DS3's birthday in April.

I am starting to enjoy this MSE saving money & getting organised in the process. :j

What a beautiful day here in Devon. My boys are all better after all being poorly last week, so the 2 eldest are at school and little one is at grandparents for the day. So on my peaceful day I have:

Made all beds and tidied all bedrooms
Aired all rooms - lovely fresh day
Hung 4 loads washing on line
Re-washed few items to get rid of kid's chocolate & food stains!
Cleaned up kitchen, put some things away that don't get used much and rearranged so looks much clearer and nicer :)
    Done dog poo run ;)
Tried to contact Uni re course info - will have to try later
Our dinner is scrummy leftovers from yesterday - roast lamb & gravy a la James Martin recipe - mmmm, and mash and spinach & fennel gratin + leftover M&S cheesecake.

    I also need to:

    Clean out fridge - DONE
Have lunch before 1.45 - WELL, 2.45 RUSHED
Read 30 mins of library book - anatomy (so I get into practice of putting time aside to study for when I start studies in Oct with OU) - ONLY 5 MINS!
Walk dog down fields on way to pick up boys from school - YEP, BUT NO FIELDS!
Drive economically to Mum's - boys have tea there - YES
    Make packed lunches. - NEARLY
    Have NSD - WOOHOO
    Check online banking - DONE
    Ironing tonight -
Put couple baby items on ebay - TUESDAY
Read Saturday's paper tonight - MAYBE
Watch one of many taped Casualty episodes tonight - TUES
Find country-ish round breakfast table & chairs for conservatory, either Tesco direct/Argos or even better, Freecycle. - TUES

There, must go. Times a ticking! :)
