When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.

But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free

Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.

So be proud of those small steps, they really are important :D

Goooood morning!HShearts11_27135.gifHShearts11_27135.gif

  • Morning everyone!

I have posted occsionally but I have decided it would be good for me to try and "join in" with this more often!

    Today I will/have:-

    Empty dishwasher
Clean out fridge ready for shopping delivery
Plan some meals for the week
    Have shower/wash hair
Spend A LOT of time looking for a job - after some months of doing this I need to try to "think outside of the box" and try some new ideas/ways of approaching my job search.
    Hoover
    Check bank accounts

Its not a lot but its a start!

    Have a great day all.
  • Morning everyone. Ah I have another day off today, and the sun is shining, bliss! Although I've booked myself to go to a work exhibition with a colleague, I want to cry off and have a full day off but am trying to decide if this would be a poor showing? I guess it is but still may not go as am ALWAYS working

    Today I will:
    • I didn't make it to the gym yesterday as so that is the top of my list today, and then have a sauna :D
    • Go into town and buy potatoes to chit (whole new experieice for me, v excited about it!)
    • look for the missing packs of seeds I didn't use last year...
    • plant seeds - toms, cu's, lettuce, courgettes, and the missing ones if found
    • Ring the college beauty salon and see if they will refund me £50 on a block of 6 facials I bought last year. I've only used one as the timestable there isn't compatible with my work schedule. Fingers crossed. Will go straight to my debt if I get it.
    • Do any surveys availble
That's more than enough! Can someone tell me what daily scrath cards are pls?

Thanks! Wishing you all a lovely, LS stress free day :)

    Hello all

Weekend of mine was interesting! New house boiler decided to break and the hot water tank emptied its entire contents over the upstairs and downstaris of hte house - whilst refilling all night long - so that was a bit interesting!

Anyway onwards - mothers day in this household is cancelled til next weekend - drying carpets and towels etc not very conjusive to mummyspoiling!

    Today
pack up book to sell on amazon and post at lunchtime
Pop to house and put the dehumidifier upstairs (its downstairs at the mo)
Take out new microwave and a car full of bits
Take along some other bits so the car is full
    Check banks
PAD to DS savings - he's got a trip later this year
    Sort out ebay listings later
Update blog as took fence pictures :) and am going to definately document the garden constructing
Found 30p must put that in piggy bank
Phone brother from work and arrange a hand this week - pay him £20 I owe him
    Storecupboard tea
Order some bits for OH to bring up from mainland on Friday
Work really hard this week and finish field work if I can
Phone up about laptop - not heard anything from my pal
Walk doggie if possible or take him to field
Start taking willow cuttings and enquire about local bare rooted hedging
Hokeycokey on and drying and another one on
Pick up freecycle wool bits from a nice person who's leaving them in a ferry waiting room for me

Thats me today folks :) have fun and ta for the lovely smilies milly! Missed you lot over hte weekend but no BB at new house - although I did have my phone.......
Total debt 26/4/18 <£1925 we were getting there.

Hello everyone, hope you had a good weekend.

    Beautiful morning.

Had a friend to stay over the weekend but somehow managed to keep the spending down, so pleased.

    Small DFW things today:
    [strike]check online banking[/strike]
    [strike]pay in cheque[/strike]
    [strike]washing on 30[/strike]
[strike]check car insurance for better deals[/strike] don't seem to be able to find a better deal than the one I'm on
[strike]check business insurance[/strike] looking like I can halve my premium but need to check policy coverage first
    [strike]daily clicks[/strike]
see if there's anything (else!) I can sell on ebay too busy - this will have to wait until the weekend; hopefully there'll be a free listing day soon
    [strike]meals from larder[/strike]

Have a lovely day everyone x
