Afternoon everyone.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes. I had a lovely day yesterday, sun shone all day which was good as we were out for several hours watching the parade. It was very busy (I think 80,000 were in attendance). Kids were very well behaved and enjoyed it. Then had a lovely tea with my mum and dad
Busy morning at toddler group, kids fed and packed off to nursery. need to bake some twinks if I have the energy
H is off today and tomorrow so will no doubt end up not getting half the stuff done that I want to :rotfl:
Tea tonight is Somerset Sausage casserole in the SC.
Mountain of ironing to tackle tonight
Tru - Happy Birthday  Hope you have a fantastic day
Diva - thanks for the e-card. It was lovely
sorry to hear you were missing your mum yesterday and that Tris is not doing so well xx
WMF - your tutor should not resort to sarcasm. Criticism should be constructive and that doesn't sound like it was xx
snoozer - Hugs to you xx Sorry you're feeling fed up.
ivyleaf - glad you had a good hols.
N9eav - Love your new avatar Mr Grumpy!!!!
lowesy - Hmmmm what you've posted about your mobile company etc would be considered MY polite version
:rotfl:
Candygirl - poor you. Hope the tablets work. Although everytime I've had a UTI it's never cleared up on it's own.
notjustlaura - well done on your weightloss :j
Right got a few things to sort out so will sign off for now.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

*waves from the back* Hope you are all well I'm still buried under this wedding cake. I hate cake. I never want to see any cake again ever. I will do the laundry as soon as I the sugar flowers are dry enough to peel off the clothes airer.Very busy at work still too, so sorry for the fast post - I have been lurking a lot recently.
tru - happy birthday
bitsy - belated happy birtday to you too
n9eav - wish your DD best of luck
wmf - ((hug)) for you - hope it didn't make you feel too down. I had an awful PhD supervisor, so I feel your pain; to the extent I had eight weeks to write my thesis from start to finish as well as being given extra tasks to do. My supervisor didn't see any of it before it was submitted. There is a wonderful viral e-mail kicking around relating the lord of the rings to a PhD - your supervisor takes the role of Gandolf, who turns up, drops the impossible on you then disappears without a trace, leaving you to fight the monsters, then shows up at the end and takes all the credit. It rings (!) sooooo true
I'd write a book about my expirences if I thought anyone would believe me. You are the expert in your field and if she has to resort to sarcasm, then that's her failing not yours.
notjustlaura - well done on the weight loss!
((hugs)) for those feeling down or unwell, have a good day all, cel x:staradmin:starmod: beware of geeks bearing .gifs...:starmod::staradmin:starmod: Whoever said "nothing is impossible" obviously never tried to nail jelly to a tree :starmod:0 -
Just back from big shop and only spent £31.60, no more shopping to get this month now so I am well within my target of £120.00 per month .
DGD Katie just phoned and asked me to pick her up from her placement at 15.30 as she has developed a blister on her heel from walking there this morning.Bless her its two bus rides and she does try to save a bit of cash from her part-time job but she only had one day in to work in February and the bus fares around here are shocking She can't get EMA so she tries to save her Mum some cash by walking everywhere. So I will pop out in a minute and pick her up.
All my cupboards are full so lots of NSD's for me :)Sun still shining and a lovely warm afternoon.Washing is blowing well and I will add that to my ironing pile when I come back home
Hope everyone is having a good Monday
Cheers JackieO xx0 -

Morning everyone
:bdaycake: Tru
Back home, so here starts the chaos, but before I do thought I would share this especially with those of us who are not as young as we once were:
THIS IS HAPPENING RIGHT HERE IN OUR OWN COUNTRY!
We Must Stop This Immediately !
Have you noticed that stairs are getting steeper. Groceries are heavier. And, everything is farther away. Yesterday I walked to the corner and I was dumbfounded to discover how long our street had become!
And, you know, people are less considerate now, especially the young ones. They speak in whispers all the time! If you ask them to speak up they just keep repeating themselves, endlessly mouthing the same silent message until they're red in the face! What do they think I am, a lip reader?
I also think they are much younger than I was at the same age. On the other hand, people my own age are so much older than I am. I ran into an old friend the other day and she has aged so much that she didn't even recognize me.
I got to thinking about the poor dear while I was combing my hair this morning, and in doing so, I glanced at my own reflection well, REALLY NOW-even mirrors are not made the way they used to be!
Another thing, everyone drives so fastthese days! You're risking life and limb if you happen to pull onto the freeway in front of them. All I can say is, their brakes must wear out awfully fast, the way I see them screech and swervein my rear view mirror.
Clothing manufacturers are less civilized these days. Why else would they suddenly start labeling a size 10 or 12 dress as 18 or 20? Do they think no one notices? The people who makebathroom scales are pulling the same prank. Do they think I actually 'believe' the number I see on that dial? HA! I would never let myself weigh that much! Just who do these people think they're fooling?
I'd like to call up someone in authority to report what's going on -- but the telephone company is in on the conspiracy too: they've printed the phone books in such small type that no one could ever find a number in there!
All I can do is pass along this warning: WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!
Unless something drastic happens, pretty soon everyone will have to suffer these awful indignities.
PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO EVERYONE YOU KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO WE CAN GET THIS CONSPIRACY STOPPED!
I am sending this in a larger font as something has happened to my computer's fonts - they are smaller ending this to you in a larger font size, because than they once were.
Apologies to you younger ones, and for being slightly off topic. Unpacking and putting away nearly finished, bin full of washing somehow!!
DG
p.s.started this around 9ish, but just finished it.

Well it's good news and bad news in our house.
First for the good news. The car passed it's MOT, without needing anything done:j Yeh , your positive vibes worked, they just mentioned we would need a new rear tyre in the next couple of months.
Now the bad:( DH had a tax bill for far more than he was expecting. Our accountant is awful. Will definitely be changing that. The amount is £1900 and as we are living on a very tight budget whilst trying to pay off our debts this is an impossible figure for us. OH rang the tax but the guy he spoke to was less than helpful, to be polite, so he will ring back in a few days and try and organise a payment plan and hopefully get someone better on the phone.:( The problem is I deal with stuff like this as positively as I can and try to come up with a solution were my DH gets really stressed and quiet for a few days until he comes to terms with it. Usually involves lots of running on the treadmill:eek:
Oh well, we will sort it one way or another. They can't have what we haven't got.
Sorry for the moany post. Just some days feel like the faster you pedal the further back you slip

Jst popping back to say Happy Birthday to Tru!!!!!
Hope you've had a great day,
Jackie X
Just popping back to share this gem. OH is making coffee and says "What's wrong with this sugar?" "Nothing," says I, "It's thickening my coffee" says OH. "Oops I've put in COUSCOUS instead of sugar!" Lol you couldn't make it up:rotfl::rotfl:It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

Esmf73: You drive 5 hours to go to church?!
Well, no not really. We have our own house in Yorkshire, but live in an Army quarter near Salisbury - 5hr drive isn't great, but I make it for a bit of peace. :rotfl:Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0
