OS Daily Thread - Monday 15th March

Hi there! This is the Daily Thread for Monday 15th March. It is an 'Over the garden fence' type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new Daily Thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two Dailys' live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new Daily Thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “Hi everyone, hope you are all well” type start is just as good.

Morning lovely OS-ers! firesidemaid -
I hope now you have broken your duck on the Daily you will post with us again! And well done on the flapjacks. jc - I understand totally re the painkillers. After all, the pain is the bodies way of telling us all is not well and while some pains can be worked through of course, I think that sometimes you can do more harm than good by masking it completely as you said. And another fan of the Faraway Tree here.
Linkypie - Hope you managed to get some baking done
sistercas - Well done to your daughter
remmie - hugs hon
Bitsy - sorry I missed your birthday but really glad you had a good day honey.
candygirl - hope the cranberry tablets are doing the trick.
Hart - hugs for your sister
I know Mothers Day is a commercial holiday but for me it always brings back memories of Mothering Sunday when we were given little bunches of primroses at church to give to our Mums and we made cards in Sunday school while they talked about Mary. I really missed my mother yesterday.
My OH went to Morrisons on his way to his mothers and picked up the meal offer which was still on so we ended up having the most deliciously tender pork joint for lunch yesterday.
Breakfast will be the last mouthful or two of trifle.
What??! It has fruit in it and dairy, it's almost healthy by those standards.
The Drs have messed up Tris's meds again. He is not doing so well. American Drs just seem incapable of reading charts/notes.
Anyway, I hope everyones week starts well and that anyone feeling poorly feels better. With love, light and
for all.

Morning.
I have taken the day off work today, I am off to Plymouth where my daughter has a University interview and look about... 9am start, so I have to fight all the rush hour traffic in.
May have been easier by train, but it's quite expensive leaving before 9 as well....
Nice curry last night, couple of beers and Candleford.
Have a good day everyone:)
I changed my Avatar after all these years. I think this is more aptNO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!0 -
Diva - thats exactly what happened in our church yesterday. It was a breath of fresh air! As I'm normally racing round trying to clean up before we start travelling back to our Army quarter it was wonderful. I went to church, where there was Sunday school so I didn't have to worry about the kids behaviour. Then each child (I have 2) gave their Mum a small pot of tete a tete that had been kindly planted up by the organist. It was GREAT!
However after a 5 hr drive home they were a bit thirsty! Then OH and I sat down and reality kicked in and we're on course for another move this summer - fortunately it will be back to our own house and will therefore be our last one. But we might have to do it ourselves (at 36 and 41 this wouldn't be fun!!). So am now eating the contents of the freezer and the cupboards in preparation! Ho Hum!
Have a great day everyone - just hope I don't get lost in the freezer!!!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -

Diva - hope they get Tris' medication sorted asap!
N9eav - yes very fitting :rotfl:good luck for your DD's interview.

As usual have loads of office work to get through. Not sure if will be able to get to M&S today as remembered have a delivery coming. Do need to get to the docs to drop a prescription off at sometime.
Roast beef for dinner tonight - one of the M&S meal deals as we didn't have a roast yesterday. Have already had an Oakham chicken and have a lamb joint in the freezer.
So busy busy busy today. Hope the sun shines again, it did yesterday and turned out quite mild in the afternoon :jspring is coming!
Have a good monday all.x0 -
Morning all,
:bdaycake:Happy Birthday Tru, have a great day :T, how is Ruby Chick ??
Looks like a nice day here again :T, yesterday I got my bedding dried on the line, and bought it straight in and back on the bed, it was so fresh getting in it last night.
Yesterday I planted some snowdrops, hopefully they will come up next year. We got so much done yesterday, I painted the woodwork in the kitchen, and OH put the skirting up in my dd's room, her room looks great, we are slowly getting there. I need to put the top coat on the woodwork today.
Dinner tonight will be the breast of lamb we did not have yesterday, we finished work too late to start a roast, so we had soup instead.
Today, other than painting, I need to do an online shop, and general housework and washing, my mum is comng down for coffee later on, she is struggling a bit with my dad at the moment, and ended up in tears yesterday
.
Ok better get on, have good days all xx0 -
Morning all
Love and hugs to those who are sad or poorly.
Dry, bright and cold here this morning. Have been missing for a couple of days, I just don't know where the days are going at the moment. OH and I have been away for the weekend on our own and the boys went to my parents, when we got back yesterday I cooked a meal for all of us to coincide with the boys being brought back so fed mum and dad to as it was Mothers Day. Was a bit rushed but everyone enjoyed.
We went away in the caravan to a site clean up weekend, we hadn't been to this particular site before so was nice to get a look and also very nice to get away. Lots of our friends were there so had a good weekend. We're not away now until Easter so have to get cracking with the decorating in the Dining Room so it's done for when the carpet is laid in mid April.
OH on early turns again this week, so he's been gone since stupid early o'clock and I'm off to work soon, not looking to it as the last 4 Mondays have been so busy - ho hum at least I still have a job, which is more than lots of people have, and I am very grateful for it.
Stayed the same on the diet this last week, and think I will do the same or put on a bit this week, as ate and drank quite a lot over the weekend, so will have to be ultra good this week and see what happens at the scales at the end of the week!!
Now off to put the washing on the line and get ready for work.
Keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

Just a quickie before I go to work. WM is on, should finish shortly. Packed lunch ready.
I listed some DVD's on Amazon and Play last night and I've sold 6 already
not for much but it all counts. Also managed to get rid of couple items on Freecycle too if they get collected this week.
It's a beautiful morning here, I'm off to a pretty seasside village later with work so hoping the sun shines all day!
Have a good day all

morning all....
so far not too good, i have a bit of a hangover, and have forgotten to bring lunch to work (meaning i had 5 minutes extra in bed, rather than chuck somehting to gether - i'm bad i know...).
i will have to go to the unfortunately nicknamed scabby cafe for a chip buttie....
i have had a fantastic weekend at least, and went to a poetry evening last night with my sister, and a friend of ours.....
when i get home tonight i have to just finish the spring clean, and hoover upstairs, and apart from washing that is the only house work left to do today....
have a nice day all.

Morning All,
Candygirl meant to say yesterday I used to get cystitis all the time. In my first ever job I remember being in the toilets crying because it was soo bad. I have drunk cranberry juice every day since. Providing I do that it keeps away, if I go a couple of days without it comes back:(
nmlc a couple of weeks is not bad, I haven't lost anything for ages. Seems to be a celebration every week. I really need to get back on track:o
Redruby aww big hugs for your poor mum
N9eav good luck to DD with her interview
Tru Happy Birthday
Had a nice day yesterday. Made a big roast chicken lunch, which was ready at 3.00 on the table but there was 20 mins left of the Man U match so everyone wanted to eat on there knee. DD and I sat at the table fuming  then one by one the boys joined us aologising:rotfl:they did win 3-0 they kept jumping up every time they scored!
Must nip to Mr T's today. Mum is coming to have lunch tomorrow and then to my DB for tea as she lives over in Yorkshire so we didn't see her yesterday and I have DGS tomorrow so it would be difficult to go in the morning. Going to do a posh sandwich and HM Cake.
Didn't sleep well yesterday worrying about everything and know I will probably have to give up work soon due to my health. Feel so guilty that my wage will stop:( even though I love being at home.
Well must get on, my car is due for MOT so will book that in, not a lot left in the budget this month so fingers crossed it goes through ok. DH work car due on 4th April so expensive couple of months.
Well off for another cuppa. Have a good day everyone. J xStarted Self Managed DMP 10th May 2017.

Good morning everyone.
I trust you all had a lovely day yesterday, Mothers or not.
N9eav fab avatar, very apt.
Nic your wee dog is gorgeous, I don't think I've ever seen one before.
Off to work soon, not much to report, dunno what will be for dinner, must go to the bank and put some money in my current account for a DDEB, for some reason it won't go over online, hope I don't get charges.
Coco is really sleepy today, OH and the boys had her out a long time at grans yesterday playing in her huge garden and she appears to have exhausted herself.
Have a gorgeous day OS or not. Hugs if you're in need or want.
