MSD – How exactly does one brake a duck? What sort of duck is it?
Esmf73: You drive 5 hours to go to church?!
Nimbo – shocking…
Julie67 – good job they didn’t have dinner on their laps if they were jumping up everytime a goal was scored!
Wmf – I’m not surprised you were annoyed – it sounds like your tutor was really inappropriate. Glad you’ve managed to rise above it though.
Snoozer – hugs for you.
Csarina – good luck with the tax. What a nightmare!
I’m going to have to go and read the magic faraway tree now. Clearly I have missed a crucial part of my childhood! I did read most of Ms Blyton’s other masterpieces though, so not feeling too bad about it!
Somebody has started up a slimming club at work which I’m very tempted to join, but slightly concerned about reveleaing my weight to a larger (no pun intended!) audience. I carry it quite well so people don’t realise I could do with losing a bit. I’m obviously very dense…;)
Saturday was spent getting a mortgage approved (in principle) and viewing houses. The estate agent couldn’t get hold of the owner of one – apparently she doesn’t want to sell but has to and is being really difficult. It looks like a nice house but is right at the top of our budget and apparently needs some work, so probably going to rule that one out. The one we did see was lovely – massive kitchen and a 22ft conservatory. It backs on to fields and all 3 bedrooms were good sizes. Being mid-terrace there was no direct access to the garden, which is a drawback but not not a deal breaker. Hopefully we’ll be able to see the others we want to see soon and be able to make a decision! It’s all very exciting – I’ve never really chosen a house before – the house I’m in now was a case of “I can afford it” and that was it! Can’t wait to have a decent sized garden for puppy-dog to play in.
Sunday was spent being very domesticated – OH is putting a lick of paint over the walls in preparation for moving, and I did lots of baking.
Back on the diet now so breakfast was bran flakes with sliced banana (yum!), lunch will be pitta with HM falfel and salad, and dunner will be fajitas with chicken LO from yesterday’s lunch. Somebody’s coming to value the house tonight, so fingers crossed it’s a good figure!
Hugs to all.

Csarina,we were up your way yesterday...we'd been in Edinburgh for the rugby and came home down A1 via Reston to have lunch with some friends. I saw the road signs and I do envy your location, it's fantastic around there.
Yes Floss it is lovely, living where we do we look straight across to Traprain Law the countryside round us is stunning.........we were over at Fenton Barns yesterday and the views across to the hills was stunning, there is still snow on some of them......the sea was a beautiful dark blue, but I guess if you went swimming in it you would soon be dark blue!!!:D:D
Well I phoned the tax people and sorted that one out. I emaiedl the chap at sky who is dealing with out installation. He told me to ignore the text message, we have the phone....and he is getting the broadband sorted now, so another problem sorted.
I am not lighting the woodburner till mid afternoon just now, the house is warm enough, last night I could not understand why the sitting room was so warm, I had forgotten to turn the thermostat on the radiator down when I lit the fire, talk about a sauna!!!
Monday clean completed, 2 bedroooms dusted, hoovered, windows and mirrors cleaned, duster thrown at the sewing room and carpet hoovered to get rid of the bits.
OH has done the shredding and filing and is now outside putting a brick path in to the shed.......he has his games afternoon today at the bowls club, spo a couple of hours to myself.
I rang up to see about mobile chiropody....nearly died £20 each!!!:eek: I think I will be ringing round to find someone cheaper. We used to pay £20 for the two of us. We did try to get OH's done on the national health but it looks like we are going to have to pay.......he has very thick nails, and his big toe on one foot keeps growing what they call a rams horn, it looks horrid and eventually comes off but then starts growing again. I have arthritis in both knees and my right hip, cannot get down to my feet or get them up far enough for me to see to cut my nails, right pair of old dodderers!!!:rotfl::rotfl:Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.0 -

Hi,
Just back from hospital with DS1. he is going to have an operation to repair his knee which he damaged playing rugby. He is well hacked off so add that to his general despair about college and you can imagine what its like living with him at the moment:( I have a hospital appointment this afternoon so not much OS going on at the moment.
I cheered myself up by planting up my planters with brightly coloured primroses. Such beautiful bright colours.
HugsxI must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer.
Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration.
I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over and through me. When it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path.
When the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.0 -
Hello Again
:beer:Happy Birthday Tru:beer: Hope you are being spoilt today.
Redruby - sorry to hear about your Mum & Dad (((hugs))) to you, Molly's DS & anyone else who needs one.
Delivery man came early today so was able to pop into M&S no Oakham chickens reduced
but did get a half price pork roast. Then went onto Netto and got the weeks shopping. Think I saved about £20 on what I would have spent on a Mr T online shop.
It really is beautiful weather here today, not appreciating it too much as am in the office but it still is lovely.
Order some potaotoes & planters via the Grabbit Board - only paid p&p - well worth a look.
Anyway have just stopped for my lunch break so will get on again.x0 -
esmf73 - Hope the move goes well and isn't too stressful.
redruby - Hope your mum feels better after seeing you.
Hope everyone else is doing OK - sorry, don't have time to read everything at the moment, will try and catch up later.
I did my banking this morning and am delighted to know that I've paid off nearly half of the credit card this month. Hopefully it'll all be gone within the next two months. Then I just have to get the car repaired and *stay out of debt*. I'm feeling much better about things
And, more good news, I've lost 1lb this past week (despite afternoon tea yesterday) and have now reached the milestone of 1.5 stones!
About to walk down to see the nurse and then I need to think about getting my diary sorted - it's in a terrible mess and I don't know if I'm coming or going!
Best wishes to all - and sorry this is rushed.

Afternoon all,
jackieglasgow - thank you for thinking of me yesterday. I left a message on DS fb page (we're friends on there, just not in RL), but he hasn't replied, so I just dont know what to do - yes I do, stop beating myself up and get on with life!!
Its very windy here today, lovely drying weather. Doggies have just had their lunch and are snoozing now, its a dogs life lol. Making the most of it as they'll soon be up ready for walkies.
Dinner tonight is spag bol. Nice surprise when I went to the freezer for the mince, found 2 packs of butter I'd forgotten were in there. All the better as I ran out of spread this morning so it has saved me a trip to the shops and the resulting £20+ spand on "must have" bargains. Think I'm really getting the hang of this now, not bad after 36 years of marriage.
Hope everyone has a nice afternoon, (((hugs))) to anyone needing one0
