Morning peeps Haven't been on here much lately but do read and send virtual hugs to those who are feeling a bit down, anxious or sad.

We have settled into our new home and both love it. The unpacking is all done bar one box with some (more!!) china. We have some new units to organise for the kitchen and bits of painting to do but otherwise are delighted. We've got a fridge freezer coming from John Lewis on Wed. We got some vouchers from my sister so put that towards it. The fridge that was left here is small with a broken freezer door and I've found that we have started to eat less healthy food as not so much space for salad and fresh veg. I've sourced a couple of veggie boxes so will get on to that too.

My PhD WAS going well but had a tough meeting with my supervisor last week and now she is away on holiday until after my first chapter has to be submitted. I hadn't realised she was going away so sent in a draft. Was disappointed with the way she criticised it (used sarcasm which i don't like) but have picked myself up and will head off to the library soon.
    Be good everyone!
Will look forward to joining in a bit more soon.
    Take care all

    Hi everyone,

Not a lot going on here. I managed most of yesterday without too many pain killers but tbh I seem to be suffering more from mental rather than physical side effects. I don't know whether it's because I was so busy before the surgery and trying to put as positive a spin on things as possible for everyone else but I feel really down and drained.

I will try to pick myself up and do some of the filing mountain that's accumulated.

Sorry for the fed up post and general lack of OSiness - I'll go now.

    Morning all :hello:,

Bright and sunny here today - only a couple of wispy clouds in the sky! The temperature gauge at ours went up to 17.3 yesterday (although I suspect this is largely due to the sun shining directly on it!) and I actually managed to get some washing dried on the line!

MSD - sorry to hear Tris is not so good
N9eav - good luck to your DD today
redruby - sorry to hear your Mum is struggling
flutterbyuk25 - is there a fee for posting on amazon or play? I really must look into this...
snoozer - hugs you poor thing. I know exactly how you feel. You can feel really really down after an op. Just be kind to yourself for a bit xx

Have a couple of jobs to do today - I really need to ring my mobile company and tell them that the tariff they've got me on is pants so they either need to match a decent deal somewhere else with a new handset or I'm off - in a polite manner of course :D I also need to pop to the shoe shop and tell them that they sold me a pup when I bought my boots last year and see what they're prepared to do about it. Again, I will probably use a more polite manner than that :rotfl:

Have some ironing to do when I get home tonight, and tea will be bubble and squeak (it's Monday - it's the LAW!). Need to now get back into the habit of baking at weekends, although how that'll help the size of my backside I'm not sure :D

Have a lovely day OS or otherwise, hugs to all xx

Morning all..............((((((((((((((((((((HUGS))))))))))))))) if you need one.

The sun is just begining to break through, no frost for us last night....so guess OH is going to be in the garden again this morning. Its bedroom day for me today.

I had two letters from the Inland Revenue on Saturday do not understand either of them, they have my pensions down at 3 times what they are and I have 2 different tax codes one P and one T. I had a problem last year with my civil service pension, they started taking tax off it........I do not have enough coming in to pay tax......so guess I am going to have to ring them and find out whats going on---

I also had a message from Sky to say that BT would be coming to sort our phone 29th March....sorry why? its already sorted...we have the phone and its working. We just need the broadband sorted, they told us last week it would be on by this coming weekend............29th March is another 2 weeks, their service is really appalling.

Time to go and sort the bedrooms, may be back later...............

:DGood Morning everyone and what a glorious morning it is at the moment here in north Kent .
Just fed 'Basil',noisey little perisher, I think he too is feeling the first possibility of spring being on its way at last .The forecast says it will soar to at least 11-12 c today, not warm enough to sunbathe, but a darned sight better than what we have had over the past few months.I looked out across the River Medway from my computer room window just now and it really does look terrific. The sun is shining and the sky is a beautiful baby blue:j:j .Life always looks better when the weather perks up.
I am off to do some food shopping today ,mainly bread, milk and spuds, only essentials as I am off on my spring holidays in just over four weeks time, so I haven't a lot to stock up on.Freezer is still looking pretty full and I shall be 'shopping' from there for my lunch and dinner for the next few weeks. Then when I come home I have some ironing to get out of the way before it becomes a mountain.Early dinner tonight as its Uni night,I think I will have a sheperds pie from the freezer with some broccolli .
I must make another pineapple trifle,I did one last week and it really was delicious, very economical as well.I made the custard to go on the top with evaporated milk and it was very creamy and rather nice
Happy Birthday to Tru hope you have a great day and to anyone else who is celebrating.
Only problem with bright sunshine is it shows up all the winters 'corners' that have been missed so I think I may have some cob-web catching to do at some point this week.
I hope everyone has a lovely day, even a little walk in the sun might be squeezed in at some point today for me, 15 minutes in the park sounds like a possibility as its so long since we have seen any sunshine at all I want to make the most of it before it disappears again :D
    Have a good day chums

Hi everyone :D:j I'm back from NZ! Still a bit jetlagged atm (I got up at 6 and had eaten my Ready Brek by 6.50 - I know that many of you are up then, or earlier, every day, but it's unheard-of for me! Welcome to our new posters who joined us while i was away, and huge ((((HUGS)))) to old friends. We had a great time - i was worried about going, but i;m so glad we did. The sunshine did us good - after a coupe of weeks we were far more mobile and most of the aches and pains hed gone. I expect they'll come back again now we're home:p

While trawling throught 7 weeks' worth of mail I had a lovely surprise - I have a dear friend in Scotland whom I was at school with but haven't seen for many years. Her son is getting married in July and we've been invited to the wedding :j:j:j I'm so thrilled as i was thinking we really must manage a trip to see my friend soon.

I won't write any more for now, but will go and catch up on recent threads - not 7 weeks' worth of them though :D

P.S. Happy Birthday tru :bdaycake:and belated wishes to anyone whose birthday was while i was away.

Csarina,we were up your way yesterday...we'd been in Edinburgh for the rugby and came home down A1 via Reston to have lunch with some friends. I saw the road signs and I do envy your location, it's fantastic around there.

I find it difficult to find this thread at times!
I had a good weekend away at my BF's, away from the demands of the twins etc. But I intend to catch up with things here at home today.
The sun is out here in Northamptonshire too.
Looking out of my bedroom window the sheep and thier offspring are on the hill opposite the house, and now I see the windows need a good clean. Covered in DGD's fingerprints! oh and cobwebs!.
DGd has been drawing this morning, while I have been pottering on the computer.

Still feeling very low, so must get out in the sun this morning, and see if I can get DGD interested in weeding with me!.
When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.
