Valli~~ (I don't have kids so may not be the best person to answer) but I would go along the lines that TAG has suggested / include the adult drinking chat if he hasn't already had it, / being responsible etc/ also at least he was at home and not out on the streets with his friends drinking and being lead astray at the same time.

Marrows, courgettes, french beans & honesty, all now planted in addition to the other stuff already done, greenhouse swept out .

My BBC dig in seeds have arrived as well!

Bit of a problem, would like your input. DS and his friend (female actually but not a GF who stayed over) asked me to go and get them some drink last night, which I refused.
I have just been in his room and found two little glasses of mine, not big enough for 'pop' and, in the bin an almost empty soda water bottle. I have sniffed the bottle and it clearly contained - well NOT soda water. The only stuff I have in the house is gin and it's not that. So she brought some drink, presumably from home. Of course the evidence is NOT hidden.
    QUOTE]

I'm in exactly the same position with DS1, who will be 16 in May. I started letting him have occasional drinks with me (e.g. we shared a can of lager and had shandy), but that wasn't enough for him. He doesn't drink on the streets and he doesn't drink a lot, but he sometimes brings alcohol into the house (I want to meet the people who buy it for him/sell it to him ), despite many understanding/adult/disappointed type conversations. I don't think that punishing my DS1 would solve the problem and I'm very uncomfortable with condoning it, but I don't have a better solution. The whole last year with him has been a bit of a nightmare, TBH. I love him to bits, but I don't like how he behaves a lot of the time. I've always talked to him about stuff and maybe not been strict enough, but I thought I'd done a better job. I hope you have better luck. I would definitely try to get it out into the open and I agree with the 'no spirits' rule (fortunately DS1 doesn't like them, anyway). Sorry I can't help more. :(

    Thanks!!! I've done it. :j

Ok, I've done for the moment. Mount Washmore assembled and organised, WM and TD fed (miserable weather today), bathroom tidied, sink/loo cleaned, window sill wiped. I could carry on, but DS2 is really bored now and we've got to get out. DS1 has just gone out to a footie match with a friend, who has a spare ticket. He asked me not to tell his Dad that he's gone to see Sheff Wed (Barnsley supporters in this house).
    See you all later. x

DS and DD decluttered to their Dad's who has given me all the cash he needed to:D.
(My mum bought him the tickets he wanted for the dance show and he owed me for guitar lessons.) How do you manage that? I can't even get XH (or KH) to pay the maintenance which the law says he has to.

Bit of a problem, would like your input.
Tell him you know (if you're certain) and that its not ok, that you said no to buying them booze for a reason. Maybe talk about how guys can get in trouble if girls accuse them of things even when they're completely innocent, and that that can be made worse if it appears the guy got them drunk (even if guy completely innocent, which of course your DS would be) Maybe take him to visit casualty on a Saturday night after closing time??

Wm on again. Car taxed. Ouch!
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x

    Thanks for the advice ladies...

Mrs Chaos IF ever you've found out who's selling it Trading Standards would be interested...one of by best friends IRL is a Trading Standards Officer;) DS knows full well that if he buys stuff she would get to know where from! I gave the people at the local co-op an earful when I saw a bloke come out with a carrier bag of booze and habd it over to teenagers...the manager went ballistic at the lad who had sold it.

I'm going to quickly dust round and then I can claim a star for Tuesday! My first one for weeks and weeks! Yay!:j

Tuesday star please! By the time you see this, the dusting will be done.

I've also relisted a million things on Ebay, using scheduled selling thingy so that they will start on different evenings throughout the week. They seem to have a special offer on cos I only had to pay for buy it now and the scheduled selling bit and not the auction fees.

Very tired now, going to dust and then to bed so I can recover from this morning. DH has gone out for a meeting, so it's nice and football and rugby free in here!
