Got my card and choccies at 1pm - don't know why he felt the need to make me feel all depressed all morning
That's OH of course cos J is only 6 months old
A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Hubby finally got out of bed and went and did our dd's breakfasts.
I got a bit of a lie in and then had breakfast in bed, toast that my 6 year old dd carried up and a cup of OJ and a hot chocolate hubby carried, then 2 cards and a box of Guylian from 7 yr old DD.
Lay in for a little longer then got up and it wsa business as usual.
Eldest DD hadn't even had a drink (it was almost 12 o'clock by then).
DH then spent rest of the day on the PC, in between having a bath (whilst I got lunch for the girls) and watching footy on TV. (don't mind the footy watching)
Ok, so his back his giving him trouble (he has osteoarthritis of the spine) but I was upset that I had to do 2 days of dishes, plus lunch for the girls, (he did cook sunday dinner but he always does that) and then do everything with them getting ready for bed.
Don't know if I'm being selfish or not,but I did expect a little more pampering on "My Day" his words not mine.
It's my birthday next sunday so we'll see how much of everything I have to do then on "my day"0 -
I hate it...7 years of bringing up another woman's child....and all I got was yet another tantrum, sulks, glares, and grunts about 'where's my school uniform'! Mind you his mother did even manage to get a phone call even though myself and OH offered to go get a card/take him round/reminded him to call her. Not wanting a 'mother's day card' but just a simple thank you would mean so much at the moment
My life sucks
- if I could be apathetic about him it'd be one thing!
Sorry...hope you Mum's had a good day.0 -
Junior (17 so not that Junior!) managed to get me a card on which he scribbled mine and his name and that was that.
I know I sound a little (OK alot!) ungrateful when there are some mums who would love just a card but couldn't hide my disappointment.2014 Target;

Nothing for me, second year running, from either of mine....same at Christmas and birthday too!
My DD (37) forgot completely, not even a phone call, and DS (28) didn't phone til this evening to tell me he only send my card yesterday. Seems no matter what I do it isn't enough. Heartbreaking.0 -
And I got... NOTHING! But I don't count, I'm not a mother until next month... YIPEEEE!!0

Always feel sad on mother's day as I miss my own mum so much. probably that's why I don't appreciate the box of chocolates and would prefer a nice lunch out, but never get one! See, not a very nice mum, me, ungrateful! My favourite subliminal message is;0

My Mum is a pain in the a**, but she's really been there for me the last few years and yet again I am reminded by perplexed, about how we should appreciate what we have while we have it, once it's gone, it's too late, as Paul Young sang once............. or something.perplexed.com wrote: »Always feel sad on mother's day as I miss my own mum so much.
My OH got her lovely handmade cards from the sprogs (loved them to death) and my Mum had her shop bought one as usual, as she complained when she had a home made one.
Apart from that, my OH looked after an increasingly pooey baby and manic party animal DD, while I escaped to the garden.Freedom is not worth having if it does not include the freedom to make mistakes.0 -

I didnt get my card till today. My son didnt get organised and sent it late dont know why! I always get it right for him and post cards early.
I spent the day not knowing whether i had a card or not.
i think these celebrations sometimes are more hassle than they are worth!:footie:0
