Which Greek Island

Hi looking for recommendations for a Greek Island Spring Bank week. Problem is I can only fly late fri 28th may, saturday 29th or sunday 30th from any north west airport. I fancy Kefalonia but cannot see weekend flights. I like it fairly relaxing during the day, but plenty of restaurants to walk round at night without being too rowdy. Enjoyed Lesvos in 2006. Anyone any suggestions?

If its the quiet areas you like then there is only
Skiathos, Kefelonia, Mykonos, there are also flights into Thassos from Manchester on your datesI am a Travel Agent

Thassos is stunning, but doesn't have an airport so you'd need to think about transferring yourself from the mainland too. Flights are to either Kavala- very close to the ferry, or Thessaloniki- 2+ hour drive (easy one though) and much cheaper. Golden beach especially fits your remit though- but it would be very quiet that week- not everything will be open.
I'd consider Corfu- but go to somewhere like Paleocastrista. We were there in September, and it's stunning. It's a very non-egg'n'chips resort, plenty of traditional tavernas & beautiful beaches. However, given the time of year if it proved too quiet for you, you could hire a car & explore somewhere more lively.Only dead fish go with the flow...0 -
Not an island, but Parga on the mainland opposite Corfu is lovely.
Sunday flights from Man to Preveza.
Parga is a small town with it's own beaches, but beautiful beaches either side too, accessible by frequent water taxis. There's a vast array of harbour-front tavernas and the town tumbles down in a warren of little cobbled pedestrianised streets, packed with little shops and lovely for meandering round in the evening.0 -
Thank you all for your replies. I will check these out0

If you want a not very commercialised Greek island go to Thassos and stay at the resort of Golden Beach. There are a number of small and friendly hotels there and also some self catering apartments. No large hotels. The beach is brilliant.Tthe soft sand shelves gently into the sea. There are a great selection of Typical Greek Tavernas here serving local dishes. We can recommend Sotiris Taverna and Federas in Golden Beach and Magic Coast taverna and Akrogialia Taverna in the next resort of Skala Potamis. It is only a 15 minute walk from Golden Beach. there are very few shops here and it is ideal for a relaxing authentic Greek holiday. We have stayed here 4 times so far. flights are to Kavala on the mainland and there is a 40 minute ferry crossing to the island of Thassos.0

Thassos packages go on a Sunday, very easy transportation and a lovely island, cheaper than most.
Skiathos, flights on a Friday, highly recommend Troulos, very small island and good bus service into Skiathos town, Troulos has a lovely beach. After Crete to date its my fave Greek island. Maybe flights to Crete? Try Elounda. Elounda Heights are fab - book direct.Aim to win in 2013 - a holiday somewhere nice, New York break, treats for family & friends & some cash would be lovely!!!0 -

If you want to stay in a quieter Greek Island try Thassos or Lesbos. In Thassos the resorts of Skala Potais or Golden Beach is best. Lesbos try Skala Kalloni. Also Skiathos is a good possibilty.0
