Priceline Bidding Advice

  • I just wanted to add that while I sympathise with anyone who has problems when holiday bookings go wrong, it makes what should be a pleasure seem miserable, I have used Priceline (and Hotwire) many times for trips to the USA and have never had a problem. I've had many fantastic bargains. The only time I don't use is during the summer to resorts in Arizona and hotels in Las Vegas as you can often get fantastic deals direct from hotels.

I also want to say that many of us have been more than pleased with PL. I have managed to get a number of excellent deals and to top it all PL refunded my 'non-refundable' booking when I could not go to the US because of the volcanic ash cloud :T
  • Dear Blindman,
thanks for all the excellent advice. I'm having trouble seeing the wood for the trees I'm afraid. How do you know that you have bid for a room which will hold more than two adults? Is there something obvious I'm missing?
    Thanks in advance!

corgan69, please point us to the hundreds of stories similar to yours, because it does sound like you messed up by not doing your research and wish to blame someone else.

Google 'priceine complaints' and you'll find them. For an idea of scale, do that and you'll get 3,000,000 results; do it for Ryanair and you'll get 100,000.

Is anyone having issues with the Priceline.co.uk name your own price pages? I can't get them to work it just goes to a blank page when I click "try it now"

A Google of 'Priceline complaints' brings up countless pages that are not actually complaints. No one is saying that PL are perfect, but you do not seem able to substantiate your statement.

Working ok for me - maybe try a different browser?
    Gone ... or have I?

There is no guarantee that a room will hold more than two adults. You would be best to use Hotwire instead.
