It's very comprehensive, and quite a good indicator of company ethics. I'm guessing that it's not mandatory though.

    no its mandatory , quote:-

How do I know whether the Data Protection Act applies to my business/organisation?
The Act will usually apply unless you are an individual holding personal information for your own domestic use, eg an address book

  • Hello all.

I have been reading this thread with interest as I just started with Foxy last week. I decided to do a search tonight to see if anyone has had any experience with them and tripped across this forum. They do specify in the introduction email and during the "webex" meeting that if you quit during your first 24 hours you don't get paid. I can understand this because of start up cost and training and time wasters in general..... My concern is this. I received an email this morning from them with the statistics for my calls yesterday. Along with that an email to tell me I wasn't getting enough performance points and I needed to have a higher percentage of "yes" answers. Well if someone has already insulated their loft you can't put a yes and if someone has no interest in something I will not pressure anyone.

I really wanted to see if anyone has been working for them for a period of time and has had any problems with getting paid after doing their 24 hour induction time and to make sure my paranoia was just that. I had the feeling this morning and I told my partner I thought perhaps there was a possibility that they recruit people, get them to work the 24 hours for free and then sack them and tell them they weren't good enough. I don't know.... :?

I would like to hear from the people who originally posted in the beginning to see how they are getting on.

    C'mon guys... where are ya???
  • "but at the end of the survey we would have to ask for a password. If asked why we'd say "just incase anyone calls you, you can request them to quote it and youl know its genuine".
Although i wouldn't, imagine how many people would give the same password they use for email, banking etc? Well itd be worth a try, seeing as they now have every other piece of data you would use to set up a new credit account ??? Is it just me?"

They have on the bit with the password to say most people are choosing a favourite colour. So I have been saying that. I would hope that people are savvy enough to know better then to use passwords that can be against them. However I did have a woman give me her mothers maiden name which did make me cringe when she said that's what it was....

Also at the beginning when you start you ask for a D.O.B and I ALWAYS add if you are not comfortable with that just give a general age range you fall in. I do rush past the d.o.b part because I wouldn't want to give that info.

Also, as far as where the phone numbers come from I don't know but all I can say is it is quite an old list because I have had a fair few people who have told me that the person I am looking for has died several years ago... that's uncomfortable...

  • I have been working for this company and have been reading the uninformed rubbish posted to the site. I have been paid by Foxy Communications and I have found them to be straightforward to work for and concerned to stay within the rules. I have worked for worse "ethical" employers. (See Joolz1964 above). Mr_ Oink seems to be stepping near to the mark of libel and will probably say that as I am a first time poster I am acting on behalf of Foxy Communications which I can assure everyone is not the case.
  • Mr Oink says "Can you smell that? Mmmm. It like being down on the farm..... Male Bovine faeces...."

Plenty of Oink Faeces smell about thats for sure!

But I am not going to get into an online rant with a bigot and will not post again

just checked again and still not registered for data protection ( I cannot believe that someone associated with foxy is not reading this thread )

    so again a reminder :-

THE SIGN UP FORM ON THE WEB SITE IS STILL INSECURE AND ALL THE PERSONAL DATA YOU SEND THEM CAN BE READ BY ANYONE WHO CAN INTERCEPT IT.

AS THEY ARE COLLECTING THE ABOVE DATA ( AND THE DETAILS OF THE PEOPLE YOU ARE ASKED TO RING) THEY MUST LEGALLY BE REGISTER WITH THE DATA PROTECTION PEOPLE

The website that we use to connect to the dialer is not the same one as the website you all have been able to access. It is a secure site. I checked yesterday when I was working so that part is actually taken care of.
