  • If its metallic t-cut can dull the laquer and the t-cut metallic version doesnt have enough bite to shift years of oxidisation. its a bit behind the times as far as compounds go. a good cheap compound is farecla g3 or turtlewax professional t3. autoglym paint renovator is quite good if your working by hand also.

Do just be careful with T-cut or similar - it can go right through the paint if you rub too hard! Also, make sure you wax it well afterwards to protect it, or you will be right back where you started.
    Trust me - I'm NOT a doctor!

I have just bought an S reg 206 in pretty good outside condition and also drives well, only thing is i could do with sprucing it up a bit....done fair high miles so steering wheel is a bit worn so im going to get a cover for it, maybe leather seats from a 206 gti, maybe just leather seat covers il see what i can find. Also on the look out for some shiny alloys(steelies on it just now)..anything else i can do to make it look and feel better than a banger?

could make it look like a quicksilver look alike (the 206 with larger bumpers front and rear) pug 307 5 spoke not multi's 14" alloys the gti 180 interior goes for about 3-400 pounds for the set door cards and seats trim glove box etc. 206 rally spoiler, gti leather stearing wheel 60-150 they go for.

chrome top gear knob, and try and find the GLS wallnut dash surrounds.

this way youce use manufacteres fitted parts and car will look better and worth a bit more.

    Well so far -

Getting the key reprogrammed for central locking/a spare cut made(no hurry for this)
Bought off ebay - Peugoet car mats set of 4, black with blue lining, color of car, Peugoet key ring(this wont do much i know but it was cheap!), 2 mud flaps for on the back, a rear wiper arm and blade as mine doesnt have 1 its just got a bolt.

Also bid on a set of alloys on ebay(postage is £40 :(!) and a blue and black peugoet(not your usual style) steering wheel.

Going to give all the scrappies withen reasonable distance a phone and see if they have gti seats/alloys for a 206.

Dont think im going to bother with the tcut as never used before and really theres like no scratchies on it, its just needing a good wax and clean! Get it glowing!

A new pair of number plates will improve the looks of the car, especially if it has tatty plates.

Especially if you nick a set of 59 plates from a neighbours car:p:p:p

Don't do that - it's illegal to have anything other than standard text.

If your plates from your van are quite old though I'd get a new set of standard GB ones - £7.50 a pair on eBay :)

Give it a good clean and wax. If you are washing the car make sure you use 2 buckets, 1 for the shampoo and one filled with water. Wash each panel and rinse the washm1t in the water bucket. This removes grit from the wash mitt and minimizes the risk of rubbing grit all over the paintwork which cause swirl marks and scratches. NEVER USE A SPONGE!!

Use Autoglym Vinyl and Bumper care on the interior plastics and bump strips on the outside. Will look excellent afterwards.

Add a few interior chrome parts (but dont over do it), this can really lift the interior appearance.

    Richbrook tax disc holder.

Put a nice set of shiney rims on and use tyre spray to give the wheels a nice wet look.

    :D

You will be back on here asking for advice on how can you avoid the fine imposed for using illegal plates if you do.;)

Yeh, but it gives us chance to say "I told you so" :T, sorry op.

Also don't jazz it up too much with shiney goodies even if OM parts from within the model range. Anything that makes it more desirable to the magpies is not looked on favourably by your insurers.
