How to make my car look "newer"

In addition to giving it a good clean I'd suggest a new set of number plates - tends to do a fair bit looks wise if the current ones are a good few years old (or even the original ones!)0

I don't like Irish registrations however Suffix style registrations look pretty good - I have one on my current car (ie abc 12d)0

I agree that the 'suffix' style registrations look good, maybe even better than NI registrations. Depends on the plates in question, I guess.0 -
I think you mean Northern Ireland, not Irish, registrations.

Yeah that's what I meant
Anyway - on an older car I wouldn't bother tbh - just replace the current plates with shiny new ones.0 -
Personalised cheap plates really don't do anything other than make it so obvious what it's being 'done' for, to make an old car look like it might be newer, it doesn't fool many people similar to M3 badge on the back of a 3 series with one exhaust pointing down i saw the other day, made the bloke look a plank.
Done is the correct term too as you forever be forking out lolly to the government of the day (term used loosely) every time you change the car and its a PITA to boot.
Clean it up, clean the glass, get that plastic trim polished up (back to black), good set of tyres not Chinese rubbish, if its on steelies repaint the proper wheeltrims...and don't be tempted to put silly wheels on it with elastic bands round them, you'll have to buy a baseball cap otherwise and wear it all the time.0 -
Get some V reg number plates!
All jokes aside, just replace like with like. Upgrading seats and trims is just a waste of money and I would suggest a T Cut and polish, new wheel trims (alloys would be a waste of money unless they were authentic Peugot ones) and a better steering wheel would be good too. Steam clean the engine bay and keep it clean so that oil leaks identify themselves at the first instance. Things like pedal rubbers are best replaced with authentic ones because that's one of the first things a buyer will look at to verify the mileage.[strike]-£20,000[/strike] 0!0 -
A new pair of number plates will improve the looks of the car, especially if it has tatty plates. The man without a signature.0
