I am aware people can walk past my house, although they may find it a tad difficult to drive past it.. thats one of the reasons I chose to live here.
However it would be rather difficult for someone to stand out side for an hour or walk up and study my window locks etc without going unnoticed.. but they would be able to do this easily with google street view...
They could take pictures but again its something that would be noticed especially by the old dear who sits in the window opp lol0 -
in my close of 6 houses there are no pavements so the street view car has driven past the front door!!!!!! yes i can see everything lol0

Obviously not difficult to drive past if the google street view van managed it
You're being quite paranoid about this. If the area is so secluded and private as you seem to think, then its vulnerable to burglaries anyway. OTOH, if there are as many curtain-twitchers as you think, you should be pretty safe regardless of GSV.
Unless a criminal knows an address they wish to target, they won't be using SV to "find" vulnerable houses. Why on earth would they go through millions of streets/houses to try find vulnerable ones? Any idea how long that would take? Crimes of opportunity would be far more prevalent than mastermind attacks from GSV-savvy burglars.0 -
I didnt post for other peoples opinions on the choices i make as an individual.. i posted this as info for others... those that dont mind can enjoy looking up their homes and those that dont can go on there and get it removed
Its all about a matter of choice and I am enititled to mine :-))0 -
Maybe I am paranoid... have you ever been broken into half five in the morning by a sicko trying to get to your children...
Oh yes that was a sight watching my OH running round chasing a man whilst stark naked lmao0 -
Let's turn it on its head!
Burglar: "Ooo, they must have something to hide... they've taken their house off"0 -

i was thinking about this last night, and i thought, imagine what it will be like in 200 years time, if you can look at the past in so much detail on the internet - amazing.
imagine if we could do that now, and say, take a virtual stroll around victorian london.0
