My house is on it an I am not happy - I have asked them to remove it, and am waiting for them to do so.

Yes, I know you can see houses when walking down the road - however I have a fence and gate in place which means people walking down the road cannot see into my property unless they are 10 foot tall. The google camera has peered over this. Also I can see who is looking into my property - with the web its anonymous.

On my driveway is a reasonably decent motor vehicle, and a couple of motorbikes - none of which can be seen normally from the road. You can look at the house and see whether there is an alarm fitted, and what the quality of the doors and downstairs windows are like - again none of this visible from the road.

At the end of the day, I object to some American business that is run for profit posting pictures of my personal possessions on the internet without my consent. I value my privacy, and my right to privacy, very highly. If others want their possessions flaunted all over the web for all and sundry to examine, then thats their choice, in the same way I do not want my private possessions and affairs exhibited.

Ours looks beautiful I am really pleased with it! I don't think it will make us more likely to be burgled anyone can just walk up to a house and steal from it if they want to.

Yes but you couldn't stand there with a pait of binos for hours looking at enlarged versions of all entries and exits alarm systems etc which is what you can do on streetview. I think you should have read my post a little better

No, but you could take a photo with a digital camera which is going to be, far, far higher quality that what Google Streeview offers

I think its fantastic, gives you an insight to what the local area looks like if you were thinking of buying a house there

When I put my address into Street View, it only shows the opposite side of the road. The house numbers are grossly inaccurate as well - the house opposite me is listed as number 14, but in reality it is number 5. So they even have the odds and evens on the wrong side of the road. Is there any way I can see my house? There doesn't seem to be a 'rotate' tool.

At the top right hand corner there's a compass style thing. Use the 'east' 'west' arrows and this will twist you around.

Well lets get this over with and find out!

Are there any burglars here, will Google street view help you in finding homes to burgle?

I have just requested that they remove my house from Street View.

Anyone know how long this takes to happen?

Shortly after the Google team sneak into your house during the dead of night and steal all your stuff :rotfl:

Yeah be funny if that happend! True though isn't it, I bet all the ones who don't want to be on it for security reasons haven't thought that they have just made themselves of interest by making it appear they have something valuable or a reason to want to be hidden.
