hey looby, good news about your husband, I haven't been around so much the last week so that's the first I heard about your job interview.
ps definitely claim bank charges back - the point isn't whether it's your fault the overdraft went over, the point is it doesn't cost the bank anything like £100 in admin costs to deal with it. It's just moneymaking on their part that they charge that. I agree with southernscouser - go for it, get them back.0 -

Hiya, things are ok.
Hubby started his new job yesterday, which is a relief. We have just had a letter this morning from old job inviting him back to hear the findings of the appeal. Just waiting now for hubby to get a payslip etc so we can get the WTC sorted out, then I can sort housing & council benefit out, then I can update my SoA and get back to focusing on the debt.
Other than that, just trying to finish my dissertation. Kids are all back at school and playschool, so its nice to have some 'me' time again.Official DFW Nerd #148

Hello!!! Long time, no post. I have been so busy with coursework and kids and housework, that I haven't had chance to get on and read what everyone has been up to. Thought I would update myself first.
OK, so hubby has now started his new job and it is going ok. We failed our first appeal, but he has another appeal hearing in a couple of weeks. His mother is now on the heart transplant waiting list as her condition has deteriorated rapidly. Got some extra tax credit payments with the drop in income, so have paid lots of bills with it. It is a good feeling to know we are up-to-date with so many things now. I am working on a revised SoA with the new income, but because he works continental shifts and the hours vary each week, I am not quite sure how to work the income out. We also do not know how much it is going to cost in petrol yet, as he hasn't been travelling long enough to get a proper idea yet.Official DFW Nerd #148

Glad to hear that OH new job has turned out OK although the shifts sound a bit of a pain.
Sorry to hear that the appeal is not going your way so far - fingers crossed for the the next hearing.
Hope MIL gets her new heart soon and gets a new lease of life. My thoughts are with you all at this worrying time.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -
Well, the final stage appeal was yesterday and it went surprisingly ok. The MD who is known for being a bit of a bully was actually very understanding and very sympathetic and seemed to really take on board the fact that stress can cause you to do things out of character. He discussed giving hubby his job back, which we thought was a no-go at this very late stage. We should have a decision tomorrow..... watch this space.Official DFW Nerd #148

not been on for ages because I have been so busy it's ridiculous. Hubby's appeal was a no-go. The guy almost gave him his job back, but spoke to another member of staff and then decided not to. Shame, but thats it now. Anyway, he is still working in the other job and looking for something better. Christmas is proving expensive as we have less money than we budgeted for last year. We are being sensible though. Determined to keep on top of things until things improve.Official DFW Nerd #148
