    Money making ideas ....

    Hoping for some tips
    • restart ebay selling
    • local ads to sell baby equipment finished with as having no more kiddies now
    • local ads to sell some of the kids toys they are finished with
    • try and think of an idea to start a little ebay business

Any advice on any of the above appreciated. I closed ebay account down ages ago after some problems with buyers and it was getting too much hassle. However, I have hundreds of CDs so I'm figuring if I sell them for as little as 50p each they will make me something, better than sitting getting dusty on my CD rack. Other than that, not much to sell at the moment so I really want to think of something I can do to make a little business or something on there. Not very creative though thats the only thing.

Hubby is taking old conked out car to scrap dealer tomorrow and they pay £20 cash plus £10 credit note if you take cars in to them, so better than nothing. tax runs out on Monday so no time to do an ad to try and flog or anything (and not worth it as it is a banger volvo 440, J reg)

  • I see what you mean about having one of those months looby. I'm afraid I dont have any advice just a big hug to send. Things are stressful enough with a baby without all this (My Kids are 1 and 3). Hope you can get some sense out of your ex.

    Due out 1st Agust:

    £400 rent
    £10.99 TV Licence
    £13.81 phone
    £25.60 water
    £20 DSS debt repayment

    £262.30 in bank!!!

2/8/06 due £96.99 in bank for CTC
    3/8/06 payday £230.15 wages

Is your landlady understanding? Could you ring her and say that you will pay part on Tuesday and the rest when you get your wages?

    i.e.
    £262.30
    -10.99
    -13.81
    -25.60
    -20.00
Equals £191.90 (pay this part on Tuesday and then the outstanding on payday i.e. £208.40

    Just a thought?

  • She is very very good, so that is probably my best option right now. I often do the standing order for the 2nd of the month if 2nd is payday or something, just to make it easier to manage and I have never had a problem with that.

As an emergency measure I have requested an extension to my overdraft to cover it, but only as an emergency and if it is not necessary I will decrease it again straight away (that is if they grant it in the first place, which they probably will as I am under the maximum they say I can have as an overdraft - and have had the maximum before and paid it back).

Other than that, not really a lot I can do until he replies to my text. He is normally very reliable with maintenance but this last couple of months he has messed me about a bit. If it carries on I will go back to CSA as they were great last time and took him to court etc. He doesn't like having to deal with them so it normally spurs him into action. I'm sure he has just paid it a day late or something like that, he has done it before (trying to stay positive, lol).

At least I have food in, nappies in, petrol in car and plenty of baby milk on tap for free :D

OK, had reply from the ex saying don't worry will sort it out tonight, so at least he hasn't ignored it which is good sign. However, still going to be short for rent until his payment clears. So still going to have to go with the split rent option until then, but at least it will be rectified and I won't be any worse off by the end of next week and everything will be paid, phew!!!

Am going to get him to put it back on standing order, he took it off standing order when he changed jobs and needed to change payment date and that is what has sparked the problems.

Also played good samaritan today and advised my brother of the claiming bank charges back thing as he is terrible with his money and must spend about £30-60 a month in bank charges, sometimes more if he has been really unorganised. He has a platinum account with Lloyds TSB with a £950 overdraft!!!

Feeling better today. Bank has extended overdraft so that is the rent taken care of no worries. When ex's money appears in account will repay overdraft extension straight away then not in any debt because of his antics.

Joined pigsback last night and got £3.70 in there at moment, plus a £25 gift voucher for tesco clothing coming my way for registering with them through pigsback :D

Ebay, have one item with a bid and 2 being watched with 4 days to go :D Have also decided to bundle up Harry's clothes that he has grown out of and sell them on ebay.

Waiting to get MAC code from Orange so can change broadband supplier through quidco.

Council has written to us today and said we are entitled to £32.40 a fortnight housing benefit too :D

All in all, not a bad day so far .......
