Argos Mastercard Reward Card

I am waiting on my latest cashback gift card from Argos, which was due at the end of January/February, however up to today, I have not received it.
I contacted the credit card company and they said Argos have had problems, but the reward goft cards are nothing to do with them (Barclaycard) and is handled by Argos themselves.
I requested contacted details via my account, but they have refused to give me the details of how to contact Argos, as it is personnel details and they cannot give them out by email. This is the first time I have heard that a contact address for a company is personnel data.
Does anyone have any idea of the details to contact Argos regarding this problem?

I had one of these cards and cancelled it. The customer service was awful and they made it so complicated to spend the vouchers (had to phone to activate them and then they had short time limits to spend them) that it was not worth the hassle for £5 here and there. I moved to a cash back credit card instead with the Bank of Scotland (1% back on food at certain stores, 0.5% elsewhere).0

I too am having problems with this. I emailed them through their website and got a standard reply from Barclaycard quoting the "technical problems" and that they were investigating. Still waiting after nearly 2 weeks.
Going to give them until the end of the week and chase them again.
I didn't think they were allowed to withhold contact details like that. I thought it was FSA rules to provide contact/complaint details.
I'm not going to use this card anymore. As soon as I get what I am owed, I'm closing it.0 -
I too am having problems receiving my rewards...I've had the card for months now and after being passed from department to department in calls over several weeks I was finally told I'd be sent what I was owed and should expect the most recent one shortly after...still waiting for all of them! Then received a call this morning that I need to get in touch with Mastercard as they're still not going to send out what I'm owed.
I'm now going to give my friendly legal advice person a call tonight to get some instructions on who exactly to chase up to get my rewards before I cancel this card - I had a Goldfish card years ago and they were bad - these are many times worse and will be getting cancelled as soon as I get my rewards!
I really must also ask Martin to review the cards he recommends on here more thoroughly as I took one of these cards after it was recommended on this site!
Would people mind posting the telephone numbers (and any alternatives used) and indicate if they were useless or actually useful?0 -

I got through on the normal customer services number 0845 300 1881. The lady quantified what was owed (in my case £25) and was told that my vouchers would be sent shortly. This was two weeks ago, and still waiting.
I have seen many reviews from people who have just given up and cancelled their card. I'm not going to use mine any more as I can't be bothered with the constant hassle, though I won't close it until all vouchers have been received. I'm prepared to go all the way to the ombudsman on this one.....0 -
That is awful customer service. I just tried to apply for this card on bank holiday monday at argos.co.uk only to be told "we are not accepting new applications at present"
I had to opt for the Argos account card instead. Maybe that is why Barclaycard are not that fussed about your enquiry. Sounds like they want the accounts closed by one means or another. Not fair on you though.0 -
Well, the guy I spoke to earlier in the week again said I should receive mine shortly as I'm definitely on the spreadsheet that got sent to the company who manages the rewards and I said I'd give them until Friday before I take things further.
I'll be calling Axa tomorrow to ask what legal action they suggest and will also start the ball rolling with emails to trading standards and the ombudsman. I took this card out for the rewards...I'm certainly not giving up on getting them before I close the account!0 -
I called yesterday, and it was confirmed that I was one of the affected customers. My problem is going to escalated up so as to resolve it.
Not holding my breath, as it seems a shambles there, not sure it is Barclay cards fault, as I was originally told that the Rewards were arranged by Argos themselves elsewhere.
Either way, they have a real problem, trying to arrange anything, as if they are aware of the problem, why did they not send advise out to the problem avvounts, then again, I cannot understand how it can take so long and still not been resolved.
I now have not had any vouchers for 6 months, so due my ones for January and now April's0 -
email sent to FOS this evening explaining the problem and asking for advice on chasing up the vouchers after I got home and found none had arrived in the post...0

Please keep us posted on this. I would have though however that FOS would not get involved until you have gone through Argos's own complaints procedure.0 -
Had my Argos reward card now since July. I recieved one lot of vouchers in October, but had none since.
Spent at least £3000 since then, so owed a few quid !!
I have called Customer Service twice now , to be told that they had technical problems for the January vouchers, but should come through for April..............................still waiting !!!
As like the people above, I will persist until I receive my vouchers , they shouldnt be allowed to get away with deceiving customers like this, who took the card out in good faith, and have religiously spent as much as they could on it, in order to get the rewards, for their continued loyalty.
I will try C.S again on Monday and let you al know how I get on.0
