    OK VAT plus possibly import duty (not usually that much so I will just round up to cover it) plus a clearance fee.

    If possible get sent by the US Postal Service and not a courier they tend to think of a number and double it).

    VAT is also supposed to be paid on the P+P element but is not always so to take a worst case scenario.

    $245 = £160.

    VAT= £28
    Royal Mail Clearance Fee= £12

    So your total will be less than £45 but you never know it might not get stopped.

    My guess is about £40.00+, I don't think it will be any less. However if it's books your buying then it will be nothing.

    If the OP wants a precise answer we need to know what they intend to import.
    Anger ruins joy, it steals the goodness of my mind. Forces me to say terrible things. Overcoming anger brings peace of mind, a mind without regret. If I overcome anger, I will be delightful and loved by everyone.

    I used to work on +/- 20% but the clearance fee has gone up so much if OP works on a quarter then they will not be disappointed.
