  • That sand looks brilliant! I like that.
You could get lots of different vases and glasses and serve them on a mirror plate.
Wouldn't be too expensive as you could use tesco value glasses combined with ikea vases!

Isn't there a sand you can use for candles too?? It'd look really pretty during the day and as it starts to get dark you could light them!
I was just thinking too, if you got smaller glasses you could get glass cake stand type things to use as a platform, would give it a bigger effect, I think

I dont know if any one has said this but what about fish bowls filled with m&m, Jelly Belly or skittles

When I clicked through to CurlyLou1986 link I spotted a Sweet Center Piece using lolly pops and mixed sweets.
Found this website with some little pictures on it too might have some ideas?

Think they look good and would be something everyone would enjoy! Could even find sweets to match the colours scheme!

Just wanted to say how useful I have found this thread, thank you all.

I found this website:http://www.essentialweddinghire.com/ which is great for inspiration, not so much for saving money. I've got a few ideas from it now :)

We have NO flowers at our wedding, im just not a flower person, not to keen on candles were getting married in august the venue has floor to ceiling windows all the way round so we dont want candles, we feel it would be a bit pointless and balloons just dont feel right, but if all else fails we will go with these.

I need some totally unusual / different / out there center piece ideas.

    We have big round tables.

But heres the biggie - they must cost no more for me to buy or make than £20 per table and i need 8 -10.

But i will go a little over budget if there exactly ehat i am after.

I have sorted everything else, everything on my spread sheet is green, these centerpieces ar e the only thing sitting there in bold red writing.

If it helps, we had glass vases from Ikea filled with various red sweets (ordered on e bay) It was a last minute "oh shoot, we don't have any other ideas, this will have to do" type thing but it really worked.

So many guests commented on it - and it was practical too. Guests could munch on them before/between courses!

I'm trying to find a picture from somewhere but i'm not sure any were taken...

  • What about a couple of church candles on a dish with loads of marshmallows round the bottom and then guests could roast them over the candles - or nibble them cold!
