I know I'm not going to be able to explain this properly but I've had a thought for what I want my centrepieces to be (I'm not even engaged yet, but I like planning things like this!) and what I'm thinking is having a cluster of about 5 different wine glasses in the middle, each with a small tea light in. Whenever I'm looking around charity shops and flea markets etc they always have loads of really nice glasses, all in different heights and shapes and designs, I think it would look quite nice and unusual.
Couldn't find a picture of exactly what I meant, but sort of a mixture of these -

just be careful as some wine glasses are not made for candle heat & can shatter.0 -
Ah, thanks, I was wondering about that myself!

I need some totally unusual / different / out there center piece ideas.
We have big round tables.
But heres the biggie - they must cost no more for me to buy or make than £20 per table and i need 8 -10.
But i will go a little over budget if there exactly ehat i am after.
I have sorted everything else, everything on my spread sheet is green, these centerpieces ar e the only thing sitting there in bold red writing.

Vases and pearls from here:
http://www.sara-richards.co.uk/
We are using 30cm cylinder vases @ £2.99 each - really nice, thick glass and a good weight. They look better than the pic IYKWIM
Check out the "pearls on wire" link on the left navigation bar for the pearl strands £1.99 for 12.
I was originally doing flowers under the water, but the pearls work very well and look like bubbles (to me, anyway)
Mmmm am now in 2 minds - don't know whether I want fish bowls with lights, gel and a flower or something similar to you but with a pink light. Decisions decisions!Became Mrs Lawson on May 1st 2010

Not sure whether thought of this idea - but one of my friends was talking about looking at different table decorations rather than flowers in a vase, and she come up with an idea of having stacks of books tied up with coloured ribbon that matches her colour scheme. She was thinking of either each table having a theme of the style of books - romance, fairytale etc.
or as her and her fiance both like to read having books they both like in piles.
Think she was swaying towards the traditional books as going to find hard back ones to take paper cover off so look nice on the table.
I did suggest to her then you could have a small book on each table for the people on there to write in a group them as a guest book as a later date.
Also found this one;
its off Martha stewart ideas website - looks really lovely and fresh - could have each table with different fruit; oranges, limes, pineapples, strawberries etc - be bright and colourful!
Or could have vases with water in and then slices of coloured fruit...would look different rather than flowers.
Found this website with some little pictures on it too might have some ideas?

Oooh, just thought! lol, as those colours are very bright and colourful - almost carnival type what about a vase/holder with masks in them; ones on a stick (cant think if have a special name).
Can get the blank shapes for the masks in craft shops then get creative! could puts lots of feathers and sequins etc on it...am sure your little ones wouldnt mind lending a hand too! That would make for some really funky pictures through the night too!:heart2:Married my Prince Charming on 15th April 2011 - perfect day!
Our little princess born 8th June - she is amazing!! :grinheart
