I also thought that a beard trimmer at the end of a shaver would do the trick, but just wondered if there was something available specifically for tidying the nether regions on blokes?
I must admit that IF my OH were to start trimming his dangly bits, I'd hope he was using a different trimmer to the one he uses to trim his facial bits.

But as we appear to have at least half a dozen assorted trimmers, most of them still boxed, that shouldn't be a problem.

It's also unlikely to happen ...

As for using a trimming scissors... ehm bringing a pair of scissors any where near my dangly bits scares me silly!!

If you really want to do anything with your pubic hair, just a quick trim with a sharp pair of scissors should do the trick, I would have thought! No need to buy an expensive set of hair trimmers.

    no I don't recommend poultry shears.

seriously OP, I've given many a man a trim (or more) and never hurt them once. we women almos perform surgery such can be the extend of hair removal on ourselves.

Hopefully its a target big enough to miss...;)
  • lol... some amusing responses!

I have to be honest... I have already tried the scissors but took me FOREVER, not cos there was a jungle to get through! but cos I was being SUPER CAREFUL not to nick myself!:(... looking at a trimmer simply to speed things up:)

DH used to use an old fashioned razor - found it risky sometimes, then moved onto small trimming scissors - again time consuming - until one day he got hold of my lady shaver:eek:, a simple philiips one i used for my legs and underarms. well perfect excuse for me to get a new one! he found it very quick and convenient and less messy. he's since got a new one now, a bread trimmer by wahl from Argos and keeps it just for that purpose. i think you can get a small one by Wilkinson which has a trimmer on one end and a shaver on the other (there's a woman equivalent one too green i think - for bikini etc)

i think it is very hygenic to occassionally keep tidy BUT if you have a female partner - don't go baby smooth skin - a few days of regrowth and she'll be howling .... with pain and razor burns!!!!!:rotfl: best time is few days b4 her cycle start and at least weeks worth of regrowth won't as painful IYSWIM...

Wow I'm amazed at all the suggestions for a beard trimmer doesn't anybody here know that you can buy a female version of this? There's no need to worry about itchy regrowth you just choose a longer grade which leaves it not looking like you've had to tidy it up down there but just as though you're 'naturaly neat' and not overgrown lol.

Personaly I used to use mine with the guard completely off it left me with as much as I would have had I shaved bare about two weeks ago and that's what I liked (I waxed a generous bikini line each side too but that's certainly not for the faint hearted).

No though I use a wonderfull gizmo from boots called 'Boots Smooth Skin' which is a pretty permenant hair remover and so now I keep it all gone all the time as what I like the most but I finding shaving unpleasant as my skin is sensitive.

If OP really wants to do this I'd suggest he buys an electric ladyshave with a trimmer and shaver so that he can get the desired effect.

Personally though I'd be put right off if I met a new bloke, got down to it and he was bare down there, or even stubbly....... ewwwwww creepy.

Unless it is a massive bush OP I'd leave it, if you want to do anything use scissors to trim it to about an inch all over for neatness. Use scissors that don't have a sharp point and that aren't too big for ease. To make sure you don't nick anything, hold it all in your other hand to the side, then to the other side etc.

    Hi,

This is a bit of an embarrassing topic but here goes anyway.

I'm in my early twenties and admit that I've never really given much thought to pubic hair "maintenance" until a recent conversation with a close female friend (whose a few years older than me) who mentioned that most women are put off buy excessive pubic hair (don't ask how we got onto this topic!).

This got me thinking about my... ehm... personal area... I don't think it's excessive but I think it could do with trimming (not into shaving it and going completely bare!).

My question really is can some one please recommend a good electric trimmer for men for use around the genitals?... I tried looking on the net but found mainly ones for women. I'm not looking for a cheap one, but one that will do the job properly and safely!

This is a serious question so your help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks.

Leave it. Dont trim it unless you get into a relationship where the woman suggests you do it as thats how she likes it. Different people like different things. I prefer men to be as nature intended.
