Hi
Just received the papers through the post. Everything's ok. It's one of the easiest current accounts I've ever opened. :j

I have just done one of these
and I'm thinking of opening one for my hubby and a joint one too
but I have one question, that it seems the terms and conds booklet can't answer.
It says in my acceptance letter about depositing £100 in the account and then my cards etc will arrive in the post. But, it then doesn't say if or when I can take it out again?? Can I just deposit it and withdraw on same day, or does the account always have to have £100 in it? I don't have a spare £100 at mo, so can't afford for it to be sat. Confused....0 -

Pretty sure it must remain in the account for the first 24 hours if i reccolect correctly. then it can be removed0 -

I just leave £1 in there permanently. Not sure if you should draw it down to absolute 0??~cottager0

As others have said, leaving the £100 overnight is enough - all the £100 does is trigger the Halifax systems that issue the Debit Card.It says in my acceptance letter about depositing £100 in the account and then my cards etc will arrive in the post. I simply pay in the £1000/ month (from another bank) which I would have normally paid into my savings A/c and transfer it as quickly as I can log into the website.
Result = 5 bucks to the good per month.
Thats £60 per annum - for doing nothing more than using the internet.
If only the rest of life was that easy!

Does this account and lack of money in it etc (apart from a day) have any influence on any other financial aspect? ie credit rating or anything?
It just seems too easy.....and now I think I might open 2 more joint and hubs....
