Where to buy a large print?

Hi. I have been looking into this for ages and not got anywhere! Hope someone can help. I want to buy a large (40ins x 40ins or bigger) approx picture for my dining room. I am having trouble finding anything bigger than 30 x 24. I would love a really beautiful sunset. I dont mind if its a poster which I could get framed or if it is a print or large photo. I have seen a few pictures I like but cant find anywhere that would make them as big as I would like. Any advice appreciated.

Have you tried a local Picture Framing Shop. They often have Pictures and Poster for sale, and might be able to get one to the size that you want.

Have you any nice photos that you could get printed on to canvas? Not really MSE but at least you'll have a one off.

Getting prints that size is going to be difficult - firstly because very few pictures are square! As you have found, most of the normal printers will produce prints up to about 30 x 24 inches - a look at a site that I have used for large prints of my pictures found that they would happily go to about 40 x 30 at a cost of over £100 a print up to £300 for the best quality!

If you want to use a photo, the original picture has to be pretty good quality to take the huge enlargement you are looking for. In the end it will come down to how much you want to spend....

Andrew Nadolski (http://www.nadolski.com/) has some cracking large-format prints (framed at about 30 x 30) taken at the shoreline - I have one - but they cost ££££

Thanks for your replies! I have just tried ringing my local picture framing company and they do have prints I can use but again, they only go 24 x 30 or around there. I think I am going to have to settle for a smaller size and maybe have a bigger mount. I did think of a canvas. Is it possible to get them framed? Are they very expensive? I have been looking at images online and some are breathtaking. I would prefer to use one of these which would be better than any photo I could take!
I dont mind it not being square. 40 x 40 was ballpark. But I would like it to be bigger than 30 x 24. I am sure I have seen bigger in places like TKMaxx or Ikea so I thought it would be quite simple to track down a sunset! The Andrew Nadolski pics are beautiful. A bit out of my price range. I am hoping to keep it around a couple of hundred for the frame as well. Might be impossible. Thanks for your replies.

Also check out ebay for prints and canvases. We bought some canvas art off there before and was reasonably priced and quite nice (obviously you take a bit of a chance)

If you get a picture put onto canvas it won't be cheap (I would guess £100 min for that sort of size) and you need the resolution to be good enough to stretch it to that size

Bonusprint and Snappy Snaps will blow up any photograph into poster size and mount it to look like canvas.

How about getting a 24"x30" print and having it framed with a thick boarder - say 8". That will make the picture appear bigger when hung.
